Chillywilly stayed and rode in munising several times stayed at super 8 in wetmore a couple times good place to stay. Right on main highway 28. Easy access to trails, skidoo dealer right behind hotel. Gas station across street. Has anything you would need location wise. That is were our group goes every January centrally located. Can ride in any direction you care too trail wise. I see your a northern Indiana person too.

We have been going to Munising since 1982.
Always stayed in Wetmore( On top of the hill east of Munising)

Stayed at the Hillcreast back then.
New owners now and remodled everything including new cabins.
Alger Falls is nice too.

Also a few other motels out east of town, American Inn and Comfort Inn.

Now we stay at the Super 8 because it's easier to get to the trail system and gas across the street.

I always stay at the comfort inn. Pool, hot tub, bar, plenty of parking and awesome staff. The munising/wetmore has a drunk bus service for the local bars and casino. Pick up/drop off service at all the local places. Just taking a ride on the bus can be very entertaining.

Whitefawn in Wetmore. When you get to Hwy 13 (there is the holiday gas station on the corner of 13 and 28) drive south about 10 miles or so.

George has sled rentals there, liquor, cabins, hotel rooms, gas, and if you need to work on a sled I believe he has an area.

I just talked to a guy from Munising and he said Kemosabee's was closed and for sale again (over $1,000,000)
Maybe they are opening it up for the winter to make some cash?

New info

Update,,,
Kemosabe Cabins are now called Knotty Pines Resort. There was been a lot of work done and still more to come. We have had to do some work on the place since it sat so long but we now have the lower unit which was units 5 and 6 all done. Presently we are combining them as one unit since the glass door can only be locked on the inside. Since we have change the name of the place we are also changing the name of the units. So the lower units which were 5 & 6 are now called the Hemlock and the Tamarack cabins. The upper units 1, 2 & 3 are called (1) White Pine (2) Red Pine (3) Jack Pine cabins. In the lower units we just put new 32" flat screen tvs in there which we will be putting in all the cabins as we finish up remodeling. The Red Pine cabin is getting a whole new look and will be the model for the rest of the upper units. We are working on a website and we will post as soon as it is up and running. The new number which is really the old local number to the place is 906-387-4538. There is still a bit of work to do but our goal is to have it as good as it was before and hopefully better. Like stated before the lower unit is reay for reservations. Since the lower unit is going to be a combine unit as a rental it will have two of everything. Two tvs, batherooms with showers only, kitchens. The sleeping is 6 comfortably which consist of 3 double beds and 3 top single beds, but will hold up to 11 because along with the double beds there are 2 pull out couches. We will rent that unit for a flat rate of $180 a night up to 6 people and $30 per person after that.
Forgot to mention that we are working on putting satalite tv in and also will be WIFI in the cabins.
If you call Please leave a message. Since the place has work to be done there is not always some one in the office. We are open to any comments or suggestions you may have and email them to knottypinesresorts@gmail.com

We have also started a new Facebook page: http://www.facebook.com/KnottyPineResortLLC, there are some updated pictures for some of the renovations that have been completed. It will be updated as work is completed.

Have you seen (click →) this thread? Is your friend out of touch? It sure doesn't sound like the new Knotty Pines Resort is for sale, nor just open "for the winter"!
