Rotax Ace 900

I would be curious as to feedback from anyone who test rides the 900 ACE. It may fit the bill for me also if it has the snap I expect it to have. I wouldn't think it would compare to a 600 2 smoke but it might be enough to suit my needs anymore. I was really expecting Yamaha to release something along these lines to lighten up its fleet a bit. I could see all the O.E.`s going this way in the future with the greenies squeezing us year after year. Add a little boost and your good for another upgraded model. As far as rental fleets are concerned, sleds with this mill should last longer so if they hold onto the sled it will pay dividends down the road and probably resale at a higher rate??

I'm betting they will sell a lot of those! The only complaint, and most didn't really care too much, was the low power. This will address that and should satisfy many trail riders needs with the benefit of excellent mileage for a sled. I saw a local dealer had a 2013 ACE 600 for $6,899, that's a pretty good buy.

My friends rented a few 600 ACE while we were in Watersmeet a few weeks ago. They are dogs! Downhill on a icy road you might see 80. Unless your buying this for a young kid or slow riding wife, I would look a different direction.

A friend of mine rented one while riding in Seney-Grand Marais about 3 weeks ago. I wasn't expecting lots of power, but it had a lot of vibration . Wanted to like it, but not real impressed with the way it rode.

That is why I don't like twin 2s or 4s vibration adding that 3rd hole on the 900 ace should smooth it out. When buying an Ace you should not espect big ponies not what the sled is about you buy it for exceptional mpg.

I just finished a demo ride on a TnT. We have gotten about 10 inches of snow so it is a chore to get around . I first thought of it as a polaris xlt or late 90's cat 600 but the more I thought about it it reminds me of a 600 sxr yamaha . butter smooth and very easy to drive . I saw just under 100 on the speedo on side road which is good enuff for me , the 20 - 60 mph woods stuff is what I am after . the 3 performance settings are pretty cool and are changeable on the fly . We ran a green learner key when the wife rode it , keeps it at 25 mph tops so would be perfect for a 12 year old to learn on and then just keep bumping it up . I will groom before morning then try it again on a smooth packed trail but can only get better . 2012 600etec renegade with 2 more years of warrenty for sale :) Oh ripsaw track sucks

Skidont, I would be curious as to how the 20 to 60 pull felt. Grin factor or just so, so. I didnt catch that it was a 3 lunger at first so it should be a smooth mill for sure. Just curious on the power to weight ratio with it being a 4 stroke.

Was the ripsaw a 1" or a 1 1\4".. How was the R motion... Testing one in a couple of weeks, if the snow holds..

So I finished grooming around 3 am this morning so she got some good set up time . This motor is FANTASTIC , 94 on gps in about 1/4 to 1/2 mile rail grade run . the r-motion on a short track is as good of ride as a renegade with sc-5 . The pull is silly fun and so quiet it's crazy . the oil changes will be as easy as a 600 or 1200 are . It comes with a 1 1/4 ripsaw that hooks like a cat on a screen door , my new 900 renegade should be a freaking hoot . I went into this thinking all about another 1200 renegade and left $500 lighter . anyone thinking about a 600 carb or 600 etec should REALLY try this before you put the money down . It is just weird how you cant here anything but wind and then notice you are going about 70 or 80 mph . You would never believe it until you ride it

The Renegade 900 ace Adrenaline does come with R-Motion, at least that is what the dealer has informed me. You have the options with snow check:
  1. 3rd year Warranty, or
  2. Quick R-motion adjust on running board, or
  3. $250 rebate.
I also believe if you go to BRP site you will see it shows it does advertise R-Motion.

OK Correction. The dealer just called. You can not get the quick adjust on the Renegade 900 ace Adrenaline. The web sight is misleading, and I guess dealers are not even trained enough to know when they are trying to pitch the sled :)

yah i didn't think you could get in the adrenaline.
that sucks you drop 10 grand on a sled and you get 5 year old suspension technology.

skidont,

Are you saying this 900 compares to a 600 etec? What is the HP difference and weight difference? I'm thinking the 600 is 120 hp and weighs much less. I would think there is quite the difference between the two in performance and top end.

Last time I checked 900Ace 4s 90hp but 4s engine powerbands as you know always broad & even not peakey like 2s.
600etec 118 hp no change there that I know.
No idea about weight but never true anyway but doo should list spec on website as lightweight champs.

Dry weights for a MXZ-TNT E-tech 600 is 456 and the TNT-ACE 900 is 485 as listed in the 2014 brochure.

The 900 ACE has my attention, low-maintenance 4s, and so far from the reviews, looks like a fine trail sled. Hoping to get a demo ride on one soon.

I am still confused if the R-motion and the ACE 900 Adrenaline? Brochure says it does, but dealer said the quick adjust is not an option. He did not say it did not come without R motion.

That's not as big of a weight difference as I thought it would be. They have it down to about 30 pounds is all. As I said above, they will sell lots of these.
