Bradford for a number one all depends on how highly they view him as a QB. 1st round picks in the 20's where Queens are projected to be, are relatively low probability of providing a starting caliber QB or pro-bowl player. I don't know the exact odds, but I'd guess 20% of the time you get a bust down that low, so this isn't a huge gamble for them unless he completely goes in the tank this year. 3 teams in 7 years tells you something, but maybe lightning strikes in the MN dome.

I'd love for you to post the stats that show he had the most picks that weren't his fault or his WR's dropped the most passes,,, cuzz that's new to me.

Not really sure who they could of gotten but anyone that didn't have to burn a 1st. round pick for would of been more worthy. I don't care what anyone says 1st. round picks are gold.. (gold Jerry!!) (Seinfeld reference there)

If he gets hurt or presumably plays as bad as he had his entire career and AP is looking at 9 man fronts this 1st round pick could be between #8-16.
That is the definition of insanity for Bradford.

He also had the highest percentage of drops, by a large margin. (1 in 10 were drops for Bradford) AND, he had the highest percentage of passes picked off, that went off the recievers face mask (And other bodily parts).

Are the Vikings recievers going to make up for that? Who knows.

No matter the cost, they were not going into the season with Shawn Hill as the season plan. They had to do something, and this was it. I think the Vikings still have 6 or 7 picks in rounds 2-4 next year. They could easily trade to move back into the first round.

Who else were they going to get, for THIS year???

He didn't say that, and I don't deny money had something to do with it. He said it was about cap problems - they don't have cap problems in the most conservative organization in football. Not trying to start a P'ing contest but this was about something more than salary cap and money. If it was about money you don't go thru an entire training camp with the guy and cut him a week before the 1st game, you cut him before OTA's. It remains to be seen if it helps the Bears, assuming they can be helped in a significant way this year anyway.
I personally don't understand this, and I've been a Packer fan for 50+ years.

Im real interested in what went down in Green Bay. Rumors circulating that Rodgers and others not too happy with move, especially with Super Bowl aspirations for this year. Can't wait to stop talking football and start playing football!

Bill Micheals was talking on his show today about Sitton has been creating some "issues" in the locker room for a few years. And I read Sitton has been unhappy that Thompson wasn't willing to start contract negotiations until after the season was over. Which is clearly a clue that he wasn't going to be back next year no matter what.

How bad were these locker room issues? Obviously bad enough that Thompson and McCarthy didn't want him messing up this season. They clearly feel that they finally have everyone healthy and have a good chance to make a deep run.

Just what I heard on radio and read.

I am pretty surprised by the cut as well. I hope they know what they have in Lane Taylor. Although Lindsley could be moved to guard...

Very weird to cut Sitton a week before opener. Got to be more to that story. As far as Bradford we will see I guess. The only time he is worth a number 1 pick is a week before the opener. It is more of a timing thing than anything else. There is no worse time to find a qualified QB. The number 1 pick will probably not be a high pick anyway. Who knows this could be a blessing in disguise for the Vikes. Despite all the off season hype about Bridgewater getting better we will never know. They said that about Bridgewater before last season also. He was not exactly Joe Montana last year and I really doubt if he would have been much better this season. If Bradford can get the ball out quicker he will already have an advantage over Bridgewater. Bridgewater's pressures were a lot of his own fault. He would look for his first receiver and realize he couldn't make the throw and start checking down. Not a Bridgewater fan. Bradford could very realistically be a huge improvement after he learns the offense. Only five more days....

Geez-us....that's really his QBR? That's hard to believe, but if true, yeah it sheds new light on this trade and might be destined to be another Herschel Walker deal. Ouch Queens.

If the Vikes can keep him upright he will be better than Bridgewater. The latest Pro ratings have the Vikes dropping only 2 spots to 10 from 8. That could change again for the better on Sunday if Bradford throws a 50 yard bomb for a touchdown. Something Bridgwater could never do.

Hmmmm, can you please find the quote "hey what were they supposed to do." I didnt think so. I stated that the Vikes know what Hill is and they knew it wasn't good." Hey, its the Vikes call and they have seen Hill in their locker room and on the field and they know what they have. Maybe the team doesn't trust Hill, maybe hes bad, maybe he can make the throws.... we don't know exactly why the Vikes made the transaction. But, they believe Bradford is worth the trade and an upgrade over Hill, hence a better chance to win. As far as QB rating's, they can be misleading. Aaron Rodgers was ranked 15th in the league last year, so by QBR do you want the other 14 more than Rodgers? Its too complex to dumb down to just one rating.

Got that off a Vikings site. Perhaps skewed a little in the Vikes favor lol. I think a person can read anything you want before the games are played. There are people with money down on Buffalo to win the Superbowl. Koolaid in every NFL city. At least we don't have long to wait now. First game of the season tonight. Finally.

Minus the botched 4th down snap, bears looking decent. Not sure what happened but likely something to do with rookie center. Could be the best Dline they will face all season and giving cutler time. Alshon is a beast. Sitton is owwning JJ watt, how was that guy cut, very nice upgrade to Oline.

Poor Cutler got the snot beat out of him in the second half. I'm not sure White should be a starter at WR very inexperinced reminds me of Johnny Knox very fast but can't run patterns correctly...kind of a high paid dumb a$$ so far. Defense is pretty good but not great,running game ok weaker in 2nd half. Jefferys very good if he can stay healty and Royal was good enough. I don't think anyone got injured so that is positive. Floyd looked small out there needs to bulk up 25lbs to take on these big O linemen. I didn't think Da Bears could beat Houston & their long ball passing game but they were competitive until Q4 then Houton's great D took over the game. Fox made the Bears play better as the season moved on so I just hope they get better quicker this year. There will be some Bear Ws maybe 7-9... 8-8 would be great for this young team.
