Marathon WI Snowmobile Trail Conditions Report

You're from Waushara, you know we don't have enough to open. Waupaca is closed & Marathon is only partially open. I wouldn't waste my time unless you're going to Lincoln or further. Did you get any riding in back mid December in Waushara?

    Yep...its Illinois weekend..lol

Yes, good & bad everywhere. When I worked in Three Lakes, some seemed to feel entitled because the had good paying Chicago white collar jobs. The next guy in line would be great. Time is said to heal all wounds but it has also made life fast & impersonal. Vilas county trails were nuts Friday...

    Yep...its Illinois weekend..lol

I moved out of there in 1980. Like Mac Davis said: "Happiness is Illinois in your rear view mirror." Or Whitedust can act as a liason & keep them in Racine County?

    Yep...its Illinois weekend..lol

Maybe the administation will build a wall along the IL/WI boarder. Should be simple, a straight line, no river involved. And Illinois will pay for it!

    This is just a suggestion

Like I said in the past I am computer illiterate but I had Duck-Duck Go (DDG) browser sitting basically unused because after seeing a TV commercial a few years back I installed it. Google was what I learned on & so I stayed until Tuesday when I tried using DDG for the forum. Not an ad since. I...

    Anybody else having issues?

Just an update: Site has been more reliable to acess but still some issues. As for the ads, well I decided to try Duck-DuckGo for a browser. No ads, give it a try & post your results.

    1990s-the-second-golden-age-of-snowmobiling

The triples were fast but the fuel went fast too. And unfortunately, most were abused. Today's newer riders would be appalled at riding 90s or early 2000 models. They are as obsolete as us old guys.

    Oh, Rats!

Had a squirrel in my toilet twice when I had my cabin. After the 2nd time I covered the vent stack with a heavy hardware cloth & large tie wrap.

    Calling all snowmobilers!!

About 6 years ago when I was working in Duluth we had a lot of contract employees (in other words, they were employed by a "Contract House" & assigned to work in Duluth). So they were away from home for extended periods of time & paid a per diem to cover housing. Anyway, over the New Year time...

    Calling all snowmobilers!!

Ok so with a little less sarcasm: Manufacturers made part of this mess by pushing high perf machines. They are fine but just not for everyone. Yes, prices are high. Blame who you want. EPA for emissions standards? Manufacturers for adding every bell & whistle? To be honest, if taken care of &...

    Calling all snowmobilers!!

DF: I didn't want to bring a copy of you above post fwd simply because of its length.... There was a time when we were the younger generation, now we're old. But even back then I called the syndrome "Instant Gratification " IT's all about me, only me & IT must happen today, not tomorrow. IT...

    Anybody else having issues?

I am probably the most computer illiterate person on this site. That being said, I have "2 Cups & a String" internet at home, a windows 7 & a 10 laptop & my cheap Samsung phone. (Also Windows 11 & high speed internet at work). Either they all work or none do. Getting onto JohnDee is no problem...

    Waushara County & surrounding

Weather here today (Tuesday) got to upper 30s, sun early high broken clouds later. Yesterday low 20s intermittent sun. 1st snowfall cheated areas east of HWY 49 east to the Wolf River. 2nd snow treated them fairly. That being said: SE corner of Waushara & SW corner of Winnebago remained closed...
