    1990s-the-second-golden-age-of-snowmobiling

The triples were fast but the fuel went fast too. And unfortunately, most were abused. Today's newer riders would be appalled at riding 90s or early 2000 models. They are as obsolete as us old guys.

    Oh, Rats!

Had a squirrel in my toilet twice when I had my cabin. After the 2nd time I covered the vent stack with a heavy hardware cloth & large tie wrap.

    Calling all snowmobilers!!

About 6 years ago when I was working in Duluth we had a lot of contract employees (in other words, they were employed by a "Contract House" & assigned to work in Duluth). So they were away from home for extended periods of time & paid a per diem to cover housing. Anyway, over the New Year time...

    Calling all snowmobilers!!

Ok so with a little less sarcasm: Manufacturers made part of this mess by pushing high perf machines. They are fine but just not for everyone. Yes, prices are high. Blame who you want. EPA for emissions standards? Manufacturers for adding every bell & whistle? To be honest, if taken care of &...

    Calling all snowmobilers!!

DF: I didn't want to bring a copy of you above post fwd simply because of its length.... There was a time when we were the younger generation, now we're old. But even back then I called the syndrome "Instant Gratification " IT's all about me, only me & IT must happen today, not tomorrow. IT...

    Anybody else having issues?

I am probably the most computer illiterate person on this site. That being said, I have "2 Cups & a String" internet at home, a windows 7 & a 10 laptop & my cheap Samsung phone. (Also Windows 11 & high speed internet at work). Either they all work or none do. Getting onto JohnDee is no problem...

    Waushara County & surrounding

Weather here today (Tuesday) got to upper 30s, sun early high broken clouds later. Yesterday low 20s intermittent sun. 1st snowfall cheated areas east of HWY 49 east to the Wolf River. 2nd snow treated them fairly. That being said: SE corner of Waushara & SW corner of Winnebago remained closed...

I only go into Winneconne from the west & stop at Critters. Fin N Feather hours aren't what they were in the old days. Closed Mon/Tues along with everyone else, even in Summer. A guy can starve to death Monday thru Wednesday any more.

    12-10 Snowfalls

I definitely more "old" than I got "wiser"

    12-10 Snowfalls

I do know there is a lake crossing but I'm not comfortable on ice down here like I was in the northern counties. Maybe I'm just getting old?

    12-10 Snowfalls

That much I was able to determine. TBH, it's a long way from HWY 73 to HWY 22, the trail to Mike & Cathy's is sort of poor, same to skirt around Montello. No north/south until over by I-39. I do go to Briggsville for lunch at Foxies.

    12-10 Snowfalls

Waushara County: 5.5" new snow Wednesday morning. Add that to the original 7 to 8" along with a couple of 1" dusting that have settled. I measured a non-corrupted area in my yard and there is 11.5". Groomers are out doing their thing as far as I know no set opening date yet.

    4s and jump box

Never needed one myself but certainly can't hurt. My old 660 has factory block heater & if it's COLD I'll plug it about 1 hour before hand. As far as relays, I've had them freeze & carry a spare.
