    Maybe, just maybe……

27"-41" in Ironwood????? Been a long time since we saw numbers like that from one storm. I guess that we can wait and see....and hope. That would be a great start for the season if it doesn't get warm and melt all of it.

    11/19/2025

Bought our little seasonal cabin in Presque Isle in 1997. Bulldozed and built year-round home in 2000. Someone gave me a cabin logbook gift when we first bought. I figured it would probably be good to keep a record of when we came and left, fish caught and where, weather conditions when we were...

    11/19/2025

Our 100-acre lake in Presque Isle started to ice over yesterday. This morning it looks like most of the shorelines/bays have made ice. About 25% of the open body of lake now iced over. Checked my cabin log and looks to be about a week or two earlier than what I have kept track of over 28 years...

    Snow

2" in Park Ridge, IL. We missed the 3"per hour and 12-18" totals and lake effect the forecasters panicked everyone about yesterday, including me. I guess higher amounts near Lake Michigan but nowhere near what they predicted. Good thing is that it forced me to prep and start snowblower yesterday.

Trail 1 and 13 loop open?

I get it that Blink Bonnie serves a good steak but for me, the place is too small and cramped and I refuse to stand in a line like I'm at Disney World to spend more than a hundred bucks on a steak dinner for my wife and me.

    First snow

Forecasters were correct last night. They predicted possible snow showers in my area, (Presque Isle Wisconsin) and when I got up this morning before daylight, I looked out on the deck, and it was white. It has been snowing on and off since 6:30 am. Not really sticking but it was a good start to...

    Winter Weather Forecast

The way I view forecasts is simple. Wake up in the morning and look out of the cabin windows. If there are dark skies/clouds to the west and north and it is below 32 degrees, probably going to snow. As for how much, a lot would be nice but even a little is better than nothing. To get more exact...

What Will You Be Riding This Year?

I get it. Had my right rotator cuff fixed in March of 24. Still not good. 2nd knee being replaced in December. Probably lose a lot of the season. Hope to be on the sled mid-February. Isn't getting older fun?

What Will You Be Riding This Year?

Why? Don't tell me that with your sledding stats you are giving it up.

Beautiful sunsets or sunrises, what you got?

Hope you still have some good color up there. My wife and I did our annual color cruise on Saturday in the Ottawa north and east of Marenisco. Wind was brutal both Friday and Saturday blowing down the leaves. Even blowing down a lot of the green leaves.

    Where did summer go?

All good in Presque Isle. Good to see you also Paul and meet the Mrs. Leaves starting to turn a little up here and we have slowly started putting some of the summer stuff away. (Planters, hoses, lake toys, solar lights, etc.) Grandkids spent a week in the Northwoods and Bobby#3 got to take a...
