IMG_1677.jpeg One of the greatest golf tournaments ever. I’ll be watching most of it in between getting things done, speaking of that the piers and lifts are in, 60 today, work done early this year, now just waiting for the water level to come up and then the boats can go in.

is the water level in your lake regulated in some way? and I agree it is the greatest tournament for sure.

Yes, every October 1st they start drawing it down a total of 3.5ft. When the ice goes out the dam get. Loses and we start replenishing, it takes about 4 weeks to bring it back up to normal levels. It’s always been that way, I think for the property owners so they don’t have to pull shore stations out as far. If they didn’t I would have to pay a guy to lift it up on the bank, as it is now I just have to push it up close to the shore and it’s good to go.

I assume you saw Rahn's water skipping hole in one during a practice round. One of the craziest shots I've ever seen. Couldn't believe how many guys were in the trees, in the sand, in the water, and missing putts. These are the best golfers in the world - tough course. Should be some great finishing rounds.

Went to the Masters twice- 2000- 2001 for the practice rounds with my three brothers. A lot of them skipped shots in the practice rounds ,very cool. You can get up pretty close to those guys in the practice rounds and they all will talk to you. Walked with Johnny Miller for about 6 holes on the par 3 coarse. He was incredible with his irons. Was a great time, but like a lot of things being there a couple times was enough. The coarse is so much more beautiful in person. T.V. doesn't do it justice. Years after that we went to Alabama and played the Trent Jones tracks. Great times. I caddied when I was a teen for 5 years, so you either learn to love the game or not. I love it and play a lot now being retired. Just waiting for 2nd knee replacement to get a little stronger and ready to go. I live on the chain in northern IL. and we are the opposite. The water here is high and lower and upper river closed. The chain is open to no wake. I believe that there is still a lot of water coming down from the upper river. Hopefully it will come down in the next week.

I will be interesting how the lake levels come up with no spring snow melt to help out, normally there would be feet of snow in the woods yet to melt. Here is hoping for April Showers for May Flowers & walleyes.

I love the weekend after you see who makes the cut. As you said Skiroule, really tough course.

I caddied as well when I was young, I wish I was a caddy for say just a top 50 golfer these days. That would be a cool job.

I love Masters week, play some golf myself, but that course is unbelievable

wish I could go watch it there some year

It's definitely a must do at least once for those that are involved with Golf and can appreciate course setup and the grounds. It's very organized getting in (they take your phones and cameras if you bring them) and concession stands are extremely organized and fast. For sure a well run machine. The part that surprised me the most and ironically Tiger mentioned it this year is how hilly it is. I was exhausted by the end of the day. I was at the final round of the 2011 masters.

With all of that said...in my opinion you do not get to enjoy it as much as watching on TV. Forget following a single group unless you camp out where their tee shot lands. if you go from Tee box to green with them you will be around 1-15 rows back and can't see really anything.

Now while watching on TV...if they can just turn down the bird call mics and background noise. It's getting really annoying.

Nice to see Sheffler win again. Class guy and good for the sport and he stuck with the PGA :)

I usually watch the weekend golf from start to finish but not this year. Weather this weekend was too spectacular to sit inside the house.

dfattack, your comments about the birds reminded me of the stories about CBS pumping in fake bird sounds when airing the Masters on TV. Any idea if they do that???

I've read that too but I don't know if it's true. I've seen comments confirming they do and comments saying no way they do. Who knows.
