I'll be remembering....

Memorial Day is an American holiday, observed on the last Monday of May, honoring the men and women who died while serving in the U.S. military.

Originally known as Decoration Day, it originated in the years following the Civil War and became an official federal holiday in 1971. Many Americans observe Memorial Day by visiting cemeteries or memorials, holding family gatherings and participating in parades. Unofficially, it marks the beginning of the summer season.

So, let's be safe if you're on the roads with family.

Headed to DC with American Legion Riders. Will be at the Vietnam Wall for candle light vigil. Saw on a new feed this morning 200 bikes traveling on I-20 VIcksburg. They shut the interstate down and had a police escort. Quite a site! Made me itchy to get going.

My youngest graduates high school on Sunday. He finishes high school on high honors, after some what of a struggle with dyslexia throughout school. Also, our older son graduated from college with outstanding graduate honors last weekend, top of his program. Proud parents here. Hope you all have a great weekend!

Headed to our trailer in Plymouth, have been working 7 days a week since March, closing early Friday, returning Tuesday, we host a big family cook out on Saturday. Outside of that...don't want to deal with anyone! A much needed break from the shop but will be hell to pay when we return Tuesday.

Are you going to one of them?

I'll be at Indy 500! We will see what the rain does on Sunday...

Did that last night. LOL Had to get the trailer ready for Indy to camp in.
I wish. If I had my choice, I'd take the Indy 500 hands down. Yeah the forecast sucks but I still envy you!

Well, I'm trying to figure out what I'm doing right now... I had plans to leave 3 hours ago. Instead, I'm watching the forecast like it snow season... They are calling for some really nasty storms on Sunday. Large hail, winds, etc... I don't want to take the truck and trailer just to have them destroyed...All packed and ready to go... So we will see what the future cast shows for tomorrow. I'm fully convinced Sunday will be rained out... and it won't happen till later in the day on Monday... but it looks like the heaviest storms will be Sunday during the day. So we will see.

How did it turn out? By us we had a few sprinkles. But farther to the east the rain looked heavier over by Eagle River.

Nasty storms were predicted, They started the Race 4 hrs late at 4:45. Finish about 7:45 (They had till 8:15 because of the next round of weather they wanted to give people a chance to leave. I sat in the parking lot till 9:45 before I even attempted to leave (rain was just starting then, the heavy stuff was expected around 11:30ish.)

We went down Saturday morning and made the most of it! Had a great time. Here are some pictures:
