Conditions in the Kee?

I'm heading up with a group this weekend (1/17) and basing out of Calumet. I've seen some favorable reports, but a guy in our group sent me this report from today. It sounds to me like riding north of the bridge is sketchy. Does anyone have firsthand info on the current conditions, other than cold and busy?

We're up here right now in twin lakes (26 miles south of the bridge)
Calumet is 13 miles north of the bridge

Already rode 3 days
143 miles yesterday
Yesterday Started in twin lakes
rode to Gay
Then Phoenix
Eagle River to see the deer
Back to twin lakes
Guys at the Gay bar said if you go to copper avoid the Brockaway mountain trail due to lack of snow
134/135 is good for getting into copper harbor
Plenty of snow
Didn't make it to copper harbor as I'm dragging a couple of newbies with me

Today
175 mikes
Twin lakes
To Ontonagon
To silver city
To lake of the clouds
Down to Lake Gogiebic
Back up to twin lakes
The newbies are spanked and whining like school girls

plenty of snow everywhere we rode, 1/2 the trails are smooth
1/2 bumpy

We did a quick 30 mile ride from Calumet south thru Hancock on 17. Then up 3 through Lake Linden. It was late in the day on Friday. Trails were a little rough but better than expected. Today we rode 3 over Broakway into Copper Harbor. Then134 to Lac LaBelle. Stopped at Frosty's, which was a first for me. Then back over to the Eagle loop. Ended with a little over 100 miles. Conditions were thin in spots but better than expected. Keeping a group of 16 together is a bit of a challenge, but we didn't lose anyone. The trails definitely need more snow, but we were all satisfied with the conditions.

I rode from Bergland to Copper Harbor on Thursday and stayed overnight at the Mariner. Rode back on Friday morning, plenty of snow and flat tabletop on Friday morning all the way to the bridge. It was getting bumpy by 1 due to traffic. I think the snow last week helped a lot as I was hearing the same thing. We rode 124 on Thursday as well but it was very rough, but Friday that was groomed so we round it again. Trail 122 between 124 and 3 is a trail that is thin and also some of 133 Eagle Harbor loop is thin but we did make it to Fletchers for breakfast.

I got up yesterday afternoon. Staying south of Houghton.. It hasn't stopped snowing since I've been here👍Fantastic conditions! Rode up to Copper Harbor today. Everything was mostly flat & smooth. I even took Brockaway MTN Rd. Rough section before the road ride, but plenty of snow now. 133 from Lac La Belle to Gay was in horrible shape. Traffic is overall pretty light. It's been cold, but trails have been great! I've met a lot of groups from Minnesota & some from Iowa.

We got home from our stay in Calumet yesterday. Our last ride was Sunday. We headed south to Hancock, crossed the bridge, and planned to ride to South Range. The first mile or so on 3 was brutal so we turned around. Stopped for breakfast at the cafe on the river next to Roy’s. We headed up 3 to 122. Took 122 to Gay. Stopped for gas and a warmup. Then headed back on 124. Trails were better than expected. 122 was thin in spots, but not bad at all. 124 was great. Even 3/17 down from Phoenix was good late in the day. The cold temps certainly helped and it did snow Saturday night. Coming home there was noticeably more new snow in Houghton than in Calumet. Roads were completely covered. What a change from Friday!

Good trails again today! Much more stops today. We got called crazy numerous times today😂 We tried stopping at Slims Cafe in Mohawk, but closed due to frozen pipes. Stopped at Sundae in Park, for quick warm up. They had a frozen pipe, but were able to get it fixed. Nice little spot!
Traffic was pretty low again.
