going to start playing with my G8 guage, want to black out my catalyst and have some custom hood decals made, almost have enough stuff cleared out to get my trailer up, start going through mine, picked up 1100 crosstour I need to go through as well, first 4s sled, got what I needed for oil change, plugs, want to pull skid too as I do on mine every year. Yes you heard right the guy who is 2s all the way now has a 4s but I bought it for a very good friend to ride. Going to see fall colors so will miss West Bend show but getting pumped, will be here before we know it.
Glad you are stepping into the 4s, well kind of.

Kinda of the opposite for me, going back to 2s after the last 10 years on a 4s. Just waiting for the catalyst to arrive, I'll be playing with my G8 gauge too until the snow flies.

Fyi, today they posted that Sault St Marie has received ytd 9” more precipitation than normal. If you do consider that loop make sure all the swamps are frozen!

Thanks! I know was a problem around Teh falls last year, luckily we hit it right with that cold snap that came through but on a few sections of trails where went through swamps you could tell had only recently froze. Thanks for the heads up! we are planning on basing out of Big bay and backpacking, spending 2 nights in Grand Marais, were thinking of adding the Soo as one of our loops. Will have to keep close eye on that and would appreciate if you hear of any issues with that as time approaches. Really fired up about this season, have some great backpack rides planned as well as alternatives if mother nature tosses us spotty conditions again....hopefully not!

Eagle River has had some swamp problems in the past. 4-5 years ago they purchased an Argo jus for that reason. As I understand, they run it through the swamp areas and break the tine ice; seems to make the ice thicken up and freeze faster is what I've been told.

yes, thats what I was referring to as it seemed to recently have frozen, was not rough by any means but was a little choppy and I know they were working on getting swamps rideable so that may have been what they were doing as well

Big Bay to GM will be about 170 miles using the lakefront out of Marquette. About 190 I will guess if conditions force you to go through Gwinn instead. Beautiful rides either way!
