When is lift and pier coming out?
Pulling the lifts and piers on November 2nd, have some buddies up for our annual fall fishing weekend, appreciate their help. I can put everything In myself but pulling it out is a lot more work, the 5 of us make pretty quick work of it. Sad to see the lake season end though.

A friend took this of me in my '66 Shell Lake, L Winneconne just north of the bridge.
A friend of mine had an I think it was an OMC boat that looked very similar to that, same color, was a tri-hull with an inboard and believe it or not got it off the bottom of Lake Michigan, fixed it and fished it for many years, before got too much for him and I invited him to fish on my boat and join our team. Miss him very much. Funny story he had a custom trolling fly he would have made, at his funeral I had the honor of delivering the eulogy and instead of wearing a flower on the lapel of our sports coat the rest of my fishing crew at the time we all wore the his famous trolling fly on our lapels. I apologize, off subject but just wanted to share.

will you retire in a week or are you a seasonal worker? I wonder if you'll miss that commute
I am retiring 1/2/26 and with vacations and holidays have 14 days left to actually work (some people would say I'm not really doing any work now and they are mostly correct.)
Its funny about the commute, I have to remind myself every day not to kill the people who are driving slow and taking in the view just because I see it everyday. So I try not to take the scenery for granted and have been stopping and taking lots of sunrise pictures lately. But I won't miss driving 65 miles each way every day. Once or twice a week if we want to run down to Duluth for something will be fine or if we end up living somewhere else and just come up to the cabin once a month or something like that.
