I'm sure there's a couple of people at 1265 Lombardi having this same conversation today.Should the Packers fire Matt LeFluer?
Really? Fix was in, eh? Yeah, okay, but I hate to tell ya, the stats, and results from late in the second quarter on don't agree with that.Fix was in !! McManus M.V.P. for the bears. How do you score 21 points in the first half and wait for the bears to catch up? Bears have to sell themselves to get a new field. To me half of their wins this year were Bulls---t. Pack fan from Northern IL.
Imo, the Pack needs a V Lombradi, or a M Holmgren type coach in order to get back to their heritage of greatness. I wasn't around for Curly's coaching tenure, but his record speaks for itself. Plus the one who started it all. I still remember Lombardi angrily asking "What the hell is going on out there?" He was a hard nose no nonsense, get'er done, demanding action coach. My high school football coach modeled himself as a Lombardi coach. Demanding spot on precision quickness off the ball snap. The refs back then were not used to that kind of quick, precise play, and absolute stern discipline. I my 4 years of high school, the varsity team went undefeated. But encountered one tie due to his coaching being bullheaded and thinking no team could keep us from scoring a TD. He was wrong that night. He took us from being a bottom of the barrel football program to one of the tops in the state in a few years. Manhandling schools twice our size common. The Packers team that came out on the field the second half was a different team from the first half. Why? I wish I had the answer but all I can surmise is the coaching. Someone said it earlier in this thread I believe, and it is so correct. LaFlower probably thought an 18-point lead was a victory. He took the foot off of the gas and wanted to burn clock for two quarters. He was very, very wrong. First three possessions after the half were a disaster. He did not learn lessons from previous two Bear games that they are a fourth quarter team and you can never count them out. Now he has an entire offseason to think about that. He has a winning record and probably could get a job tomorrow if the Pack fired him today but then that would be some other teams problem. Send him packing.
No question about Johnson being a huge gain for the Bears.Okay all I know is that those in charge of the Packers have their hard, difficult work cut out for them. The Pack had too many key players hurt, missing game all this season, no way around that. However imo, the coach, Lafluer, failed miserably in the second half last night. He has me totally disgusted, and has lost my confidence now. On the other hand, one thing is for sure, Ben Johnson is absolutely the Bears big gain, and the Lions big loss! He has the Bears believing in themselves no matter who they play. That's big time as they could now turn into a real powerhouse team?
