Any experience with a dock bubbler that pushes air through a tube with compressor?

Getting ready for winter and noticed a house on my lake I believe has a compressor with tubing around the dock for a deicer. The tubing can be left in year round, according to the website. Can one say start the compressor in March when the lake is frozen? Or does it have to start running in...

In pic 1 of 4, from the set of Monday at 5:15pm, I see some trees and some boulders(?) blocking the neighbor. What kind of trees are those? Are those boulders?

Smart phone plans - any good ones for occasional phone use?

Ok I just called US Mobile, and I can get a used iphone and have to verify the IMEI (* # 06 # ) number works with US mobile, and they can set up service for a month for only 8$ going forward on my credit card. That is a good deal. The rate stays constant over time.......

Smart phone plans - any good ones for occasional phone use?

I am looking to get a phone that I would only use in emergency, like on a boat or snowmobile. Any suggestions? Or a plan that charges only if I am not on wifi.... I use my chromebook and a google number for all other phone calls.

    The Perfect Up North Property

I always tell people who are thinking about buying property up north, "the more you plan to use it and be up north, the more you should think about buying". Just like the rule of thumb for buying vs renting any house. Rent if it is short term, buy if it is long term. I have paid $100k in...

    The Perfect Up North Property

Even though I own a place on a lake, I know I would still enjoy a house/cabin that was not on a lake. Simply trailer to a lake once or twice a week. You will not get the price appreciation on a lake house, but I do not think you will lose money, and you still will enjoy the Northwoods as much as...

    The Perfect Up North Property

Was lucky to afford my vacation property (cottage) on Minocqua chain in 1994 at age 27 for $140k. People thought I was crazy as it was just a cottage. Built a home on it and approaching one million right now. Almost as good as my investment in Apple! Nothing like being out on your boat and...

Guage for snowmobile heated seat (question)

It seems to be working normal again. Middle position is off and no light. Upper position is high heat (red). Lower position is low heat (green). How does one disconnect this switch? I dont use the heater at all. Can one just snip the wires that go to the switch?

Guage for snowmobile heated seat (question)

Sometime there will be light on for all 3 positions. Sometimes no lights at all. I think the middle position is "off". Push up for high. Push it down for low, This is like a boat switch, like high fan, up, middle is off, low fan is down. That is what I orignally thought the settings were and...

Guage for snowmobile heated seat (question)

I just checked it again in garage, if i move switch all the way down, no light at all . If I move it to middle position, light red light, if I move it all the way up, bright red light.....Maybe I am wrong in thinking the middle switch is "off".

Guage for snowmobile heated seat (question)

Attached is a guage my mechanic installed on my skidoo 12 years ago for a heater we put under my seat. The guage has 3 settings. I know for a fact the top setting is max heat. I always thought the middle switch was for "off", and the lower switch being "low heat". In my garage now, I...
