I was hoping you could shed some light on why it's called "The Keweenaw Peninsula, " when clearly, it is an island. Not even any old-timers seem to know.

John, Having spent 7 weeks this summer out in Bootjack, we were amazed at the amount of windy days we had this summer. It did make for nice, bug-free days, and nights, but it got awfully hard on the ears! Can you explain the reason for all the wind this summer? Thanks!
