Shots from the groomer Bang Bang

We were in that area this week. Trails were incredible!

    2022 sucks!

Good point on the throttle. My 8 year old at the time, 2 years ago, was complaining about her thumb hurting on the 120, but we took the 900 out on the lake and she could work the throttle just fine (in the eco mode). She was (and still is) too small to really handle it but the throttle wasn't an...

    2022 sucks!

Is that a 900? I'm not a doo guy but I think that's the best engine for a family sled there is (and probably for a lot of other riders too). One of my relatives has one and it's great for the kids on the slower setting. My kids were on my 600 2 stroke last weekend and it's a bit nerve racking...

    Chevy 6.2L questions

You mention Aluminum body - seems like all GM trucks rust badly above the rear wheel wells. So what years are good for Fords? A certain year they stepped it up?

    Chevy 6.2L questions

Good info! My family and people I know always have had GM trucks and tahoes/suburbans etc so I'm not as familiar with fords. Although we did have a series of ford vans growing up!

    Chevy 6.2L questions

Cause you are saying the ecoboost has more power when you need it for towing right? I'm just getting started into looking into a truck. I have no brand loyalty, and I tend to hold on to vehicles longer than I should.

Recommendation of place to stay with family

Sounds good. Will be curious what conditions are like. As I think we mentioned, we're heading somewhere on the 22nd. I know a lot can change between now and then.

    Chevy 6.2L questions

Good to know. Seems like the 5.0 might be the way to go if you want to keep it for a lot of miles.

    Chevy 6.2L questions

Mileage is better with the 5.0 than the ecoboost? Or is that just with towing?

Recommendation of place to stay with family

Good to hear. We parked in Tomahawk last year and headed to the UP. So was thinking about starting at the same place and heading NW instead. Tomahawk is an easy drive for us if we time the part going around chicago right (probably 6 hours from where our trailer is parked).

    Chevy 6.2L questions

That's great. Wondered how they would last compared to a non-boosted v8. MPGs are impressive, at least when not towing (which would be 80% of the time for me).

Recommendation of place to stay with family

Following along here. We are heading somewhere on Sat the 22nd to ride Sunday - Wednesday. With canada closed off to our group at least, the norm for us would be to start on either the west or east side of UP (driving up from IN/IL border area). But with good snow elsewhere I was thinking maybe...

    Chevy 6.2L questions

Anyone put high miles on the ecoboost? Wondering how they hold up. On paper that seems like a great option. Relative just bought a Chevy with their 4 cyl turbo. I didn't know they offered that.

    I Don't Drive a Chevy, but....

I like that you call it new junk. I kind of have the same perspective on old junk and new junk.

    late start to snow?

Hoping Vilas works out this year. Tentative plans to take the kids up there between Christmas and NY. We wouldn't be out on the public trails so don't need much. The kids missed out last season due to a few things so they are itching to get up there.

    Ironwood to Copper Harbor

Agree with the above that there are some fun loops up there so I'd take advantage of that. There are hotels in Calumet too if Copper Harbor is booked.

Centennial/Snowies - how late in the season can you typically ride?

Was planning an early/mid March trip and it looks like it's falling apart on schedules. Was wondering if it's realistic to ride someplace like the Snowies in mid-April. I assume any rentals would be done by then but we can drag our trail sleds out there. Did it once before mid-season quite a few...
