Somebody's Watching Us (Not in a Good Way)

I met a former data scientist from Google about 4 years ago, her comments would sadly support this. She left as she felt it was way too much intrusion on people. 🧐

    Fly Like an Eagle

Here you go Gary. From a app called “flight aware” (great if you travel by air and want to know where your plane actually is (despite what the airline is telling you), what plane is over me now, and weather).

Finally some real EV/Truck stats and...... WOW!!!

I don’t disagree with you. Consideration also needs to be given to routine ICE maint like oil changes and once higher miles or age on a ICE vehicle, trans, radiator, spark plugs, fuel injectors, etc. I choose to lease the BEV to be able to give it a legitimate test. The batteries are single...

Finally some real EV/Truck stats and...... WOW!!!

To stick to the original topic, here are my real world stats on my BEV. 30 months, 11,196 miles, $840 in increased electricity costs (I know this because my charger is run on a app, which also sends data to my utility). Basically running at $0.075 cents per mile. In the 30 months of ownership...

Finally some real EV/Truck stats and...... WOW!!!

I don’t think there will be a demise for ICE vehicles. Once BEV’s get propelled into the consumers garages the media will shift to highlight the con’s of BEV’s. A battery fire is instantaneous and virtually uncontainable. Put that into a garage in a stick built home and you have less than...

Finally some real EV/Truck stats and...... WOW!!!

Learning from others is not our best strong-suit. Batteries are stored energy and European studies show that BEVs work environmentally against ICE only when the concepts of wind or sun energy are used for charging. The UK went all in to build a wind farm in the ocean several years ago at an...

    RV Solar panel

You might consider buying a cheap Renogy or other brand PWM controller and see what difference in winter it makes. It will provide a constant state of charge vs mppt which is a on/off pulse and the low winter sun might confuse it further. Renogy has a pwn for $20 right now on sale, it might...

    RV Solar panel

Your results don’t surprise me. Are your solar panels in series or parallel? Check out Bogart Engineering’s discussion on mppt vs pwm solar controller. The polarity of opinions is comparable to “what brand oil is best” 😁

    RV Solar panel

Lithium is what I switched my RV over too. Since you will be in colder environments you will want one(s) that have a built in heater. Lithium, in general, will get damaged if charged below 32 degrees. Having an built in heater will provide some safety net for that possibility. You also want a...

    RV Solar panel

When I bought my rv a few years ago I was totally inept about solar and batteries. I still am today but have spent big $’s and allot of personal time upgrading the rig. It’s a journey but try and follow this: #1) add up what you will be running. Everything has a wattage and amperage per device...

    That Can't Be Good...

I have been saying the same thing about BEV’s. Burns at over 2,000 degrees and will take down a home in minutes. Yes I have one and we make sure it is unplugged before we sleep. My heart goes out to fire & EMS in the future when these get in more wrecks. Fire and electrocution issues.

    New truck

Optics. That is all they really know. Logic (supported by statistics that justify their actions), lack of common sense (lost during the grooming years), and yes, high fiving each other on their “brilliant” plans.

    New truck

I suspect that it all comes down to EPA/CARB(?) restrictions. They as a corp need to meet a blended mpg across the whole corp product line. So if trucks are a bigger seller than cars with worse mpg than cars, you need to give somewhere to get the formula right to meet the standards. And from...
