Chaparral vs John Deere: A Build-Off Challenge

Looking good! Questions that have been rolling around in my brain through this whole rebuild, where do you get decals and how expensive are they? If they aren’t NOS, how does someone find the dimensions to make a copy? I know for auto’s there are lots of alternatives, but snowmobiles?

    4s and jump box

I do have the NOCO but don’t carry it. Like Sledtl said, once warmed up no need for the rest of the day. One other suggestion, I always carry a bottle of Heat. If we know the next morning will be sub zero cold we pour in before returning to camp. It also is there in case of bad fuel during the day.

    4s and jump box

Brian, like latner said, napa or other auto parts. Last year in Munising when mine froze I picked one up in town at the napa. It is all about matching the electrical requirements and prongs. Turned out at NAPA they were more $s than Ski Doo, the upside is it is sealed better and less prone for...

    4s and jump box

The only time we needed it was in the AM at first start up (our crew is all 4’s for 15 years). Last year I had an issue on a sub zero AM. Turned out it was a frozen relay. Now I have a back up relay. Always carried a back up relay with the 2011 4 stroke and sled has never failed to fire up. The...

Chaparral vs John Deere: A Build-Off Challenge

Since they were ahead of the times in thinking, maybe they anticipated a turbo or using an auto fuel pump to dump fuel.. Turbos were the rage back then in F1 and other series at that time…

Chaparral vs John Deere: A Build-Off Challenge

Kelly, great info, thank you yet again. BTW, I would use zipties or something in my many piles of orphan parts. In fact, while putting up my traditional icicle lights I needed a hanger to attach the excess extension cord too. Finally used that L bracket in my cabinet of drawers I got from my dad...

    Oxygen vented shield?

Thanks guys. I was thinking it was my dumb luck. Surprised I found two dealers that actually had stock. Everywhere has been out of stock for the last year…

    Oxygen vented shield?

Finally got a Flow shield. For those added one, did your shield come with the little disks that stick over the contact points on the outside of the shield? Mine didn’t and it’s not worth it to me to unstick them off my original shield and hope they stick on the new mask.

Chaparral vs John Deere: A Build-Off Challenge

It is going to look even better against snow! And not just because snow is great, but, a white backdrop will really accent the black and green.
