What trip(s) have you cancelled so far?

I have the same problem as you. My wife is a periodontist surgery assistant and they only want her to take off when the doc is off. If she ask off they give her all kinds of grief for asking off. Her doc always takes off the last week in March but very few years there's still any good riding in...

I will have to say last year the trails were phenomenal in March. Some of the best riding last season. Most of last season was excellent. We rode on March 31st last year and it was really nice but that is a rare occasion riding the last day of March in Vilas. Most of the last week in March last...

I would agree with you on this one. I don't think the lakes will be marked at all this season no matter what happens from this point forward. The ice is taking a big hit and it won't be safe enough to mark or even worth the time to mark.,too late in the season at this point.

How many folks are taking the money they are not spending and saving for a side by side??

Very nice will be looking forward to some reviews on the new ride.

Still "might" get a week of riding in 🤞

Good luck with your surgery and hopefully you will be good to go for next season. Congratulations on the up coming grandson,. 😊

What trip(s) have you cancelled so far?

Definitely has been a tough year. We are thinking of going to northern Maine to ride. They supposedly got decent conditions and I think it would be a cool trip.

    A Thought Provoking Drive

Well nothing wrong thinking about sleds. It will be 95 degrees in the middle of July and I will be thinking about sleds. I really do hope the new Cat is the real deal. Already stinks Yamaha called it quits but they called it quits years ago when they pretty much became Cat. It will be good for...

That was good thinking on your part they really seem to be discounting the sleds. Did you pick up a new Catalyst? Congratulations on the new ride. Next winter should be much closer to normal. Sounds like EL Nino should be out of here by early summer. We should have a neutral or possibly a LA...

Junker Sled Weekend - Three Lakes 2/24 is still on

Sounds like fun I am going to mark this on my calendar and check it out. Maybe some miracle we will get some snow and be able to ride there 🤔

How many folks are taking the money they are not spending and saving for a side by side??

Agree with what most have said on here. We have a RZR 1000 4 seater. It's ok to just get out there and bum around. The wife and mainly like the fall riding to get out and see colors. Way too much road riding around St.Germain and most of Vilas. It doesn't even compare to sledding for me...

What trip(s) have you cancelled so far?

Pretty much every year this is what they do in the beginning of the season. They have turn around areas at all the wet areas not to bury groomer. Most likely if we do get any snow yet this year the swamp areas won't be groomed at all this season.

Mild & Crappy for January in the Keweenaw

Yeah hopefully we get that weather pattern change some are talking about, and hopefully it holds on a lot longer than the last one. Unfortunately at this point I think it's wait until next winter.

looking at ski doos, need advise

Indy order the tool that you can screw on to your QRS shaft that allows not to touch the chain case and it's a pretty simple job. I can have the whole shaft out in 5 minutes. The tool is also handy just to get the shaft out the way to do other work.

    Catalyst ride reports

Yes this very true. I saw a mint Manta coming out of southern kettle moraine today. This thing looked show room new. Trails were pretty darn good but still can't believe I had to haul my sleds from Saint Germain to Elkhorn so I can ride but it was well worth it. We rode roughly 350 miles in 3...

If you are going with one of the 2 in this thread I would go with the 600. If it were me I would see if you can find a 14 or newer and get what they call the xs chassis. Much easier to get hood off to do maintenance. Some 13 came in the xs too.

I feel some of your pain. This stuff is incredibly full of moisture. Imagine how deep it would be if it was a drier snow. We would of ended up with over 15". Tried to use snowblower earlier today I hear a clunk and see a black piece flying in the air . I pick it up and it's a piece of my auger...

I am afraid you are going to be correct. If you watch the radar it spins up that way and disappears. I was really hoping to get the 5-8 so that maybe trails could of opened up. It's not looking good on solid week of cold then back to the same pattern we have been stuck in all winter. 😤😡😡🤬

Time will tell if all the trails are down to dirt tomorrow then it wasn't if not then it was. There is not any frost in the ground. Warm wet snow and warm ground underneath is never a good combination for making a good trail base. Hopefully the cold air last night firmed it all up because if not...

Yeah they want the ground to firm up so it doesn't go straight down to mud. Wet snow and warm ground doesn't make for a good snowmobile trail.
