I have read of people like John boondocking in Houghton and Keweenaw counties but I am not finding any federal or state forest lands where there would be public land maps available. Is this because it is mostly private land like farms or smaller parcel county lands not well mapped? Any help...

Plan on riding in the Keweenaw this weekend with my wife and daughter. Which would you say is usually better/less traveled - Trail 3 or 17? Which has better access to some "backcountry" or unplowed forest roads and where if I could ask? Thanks in advance! Rob
