    1996 Polaris RXL.

Haven't posted in a while on here but I've done a lot of work. My buddy bought a 97 Arctic cat powder extreme 600 136". Well, I certainly can't have him running around with a 136"X1.25" while I keep getting stuck with my 121". So I decided to stretch the RXL. I wanted to make it look as if it...

Finally got to ride the ol girl, not much, maybe 15 miles or so. Ran good, needs some clutching work and it drinks the fuel. Not sure if that's a problem with the sled or the idiot behind the bars that loves hearing the triple scream. ;-) time will tell.

I'd love to take all the credit but the reality is I have a neighbor that used to work at a Polaris dealership and had a little bit of an idea how to do it. He helped me out a lot with the graphics

Reinstalled hood, repainted front bumper, got new bumper caps, new skis and carbides, installed a newer mud flap and rear bumper, flared windshield, windshield bag, rear view mirrors...

Just wondering if anyone has an update on the Baraga to Chassell trail? Will it be open this year? Pic for fun.

Made some actual progress today. Wired up a thumb warmer with a separate switch. (Pic 1) Always wanted to do that and make it look factory original. Tensioned and aligned track. Aligned skis. (Pic 2) Laid new tunnel graphics (pic 3) got the handlebars all fit for me and installed handlebar pad...

Not a ton of progress today but some. Trimmed slides so they don't grab in reverse. Installed mud flap. Bolted seat down and lined up snaps in the front. Fixed secondary clutch. (Turns out it had the wrong spacer in the middle) And put some high temp silicone to seal up the exhaust.

Haven't worked on the RXL for quite a while. Just been too hot. Got a few things done today. Stripped and painted the running boards. Didn't turn out quite as nice as I would have hoped but should be good enough for a spare sled.

Exactly what I'm going to do. I've actually been thinking about this, it's really hard to explain why slide length is so important when you have reverse. But when you run your track backwards, it tends to grab much more than if it goes forward.

No you don't, I had to pay up for it. It doesn't really do much other than allow you to see sensor values to tell you if they are working or not. The only adjustment you can make on the entire system is throttle position angle.

Always one step forward, one step back. I scanned the EFI system and everything checks out, installed the reverse cable (That one fought me). Drilled out the Ski spindle bushings from 3/8 to 10MM. All of the newer skis use 10MM bolts. Could not get the belt deflection i wanted so I took apart...
