Can only make it as far North as Hancock due to the bridge being up. How far North/East can a person go and expect decent trail conditions right now? How far South are conditions decent? Thanks!

Hoping to trailer from the Twin Cities and Try and stay as far South as we could Friday night (knowing there is good snow and grooming has probably started), then Saturday morning wake up and back-pack North to spend the night (Houghton/Hancock??). Thoughts on where to start/stop? Where to stay?
