    Past membership challenge

I rode with PD a good amount. He loved late night riding and we would get back to his place around 4-5 AM. He loved to stop at the highline norh of Mass and have a beer. No sleds out, quiet and great view of the sky....I actually became a big fan of that type of riding. The trails would be...

    Past membership challenge

From the individuals I know that used to post but no longer do some got tired of the discussions, they do get repetitive, some found other platforms that suited their needs better and some only really came on here for John's weather forecasts. I don't post near as much cause I have my sleding...

    Your Pre-Season Checklist

I usually do most of my work but this year I took it to a guy who is an excellent mechanic and does maintenance on the side. I told him to give me the works and check everything. After last season I am taking no chance on breaking down, season is too short and I am going every chance I can...

    Total Knee Replacement question!

Good advice from others but all I can add is that once you get them replaced it is a life changer for the better. Listen to your doctors and PT and you should be fine.

What Will You Be Riding this Winter

I picked up a 2021 Ski Doo MXZ XRS with a brand new 850 engine in it last year. Got about 200 miles in riding fields and such so its basically a new sled...to me at least.

How Is Your Snowmobile Club Doing?

To be honest, I haven't even really thought about it yet. Been so nice of a Fall the sledding bug hasn't totally kicked in yet. I will probably get mine in fairly soon.

    woodys navigator/dooly opinions

Thats what I have been using for quite sometime. I think they work so well I wouldn't go bigger than a 6 inch bar, I have even used a 4 inch Bergstrom with great results.

    Well... finally did it!

Good for you, definitely something to be excited about. Ive owned all manufactures of sleds and one of my favorites was my 2012 F8. I don't know why but that sled was just a great ride and super reliable for me. I moved on to Polaris and Ski Doo after that (and no complaints with those sleds at...

    Masters Week

skiroule...."Couldn't believe how many guys were in the trees, in the sand, in the water, and missing putts." Sounds like hole #1 for me...I love to golf, not very good at it, but always a good time. The Masters is usually a great watch...

    Solar Eclipse

I was like several of those that commented before that I didnt go out of my way to view it but when i did go outsiede to seeit I though it was pretty cool. Kind of wish I was in an area of greater totality. I thought the same thing about northern lights, seen them a couple times from northern...

    Pictures from a Bucket List

Visited there several years ago, very cool. The science and engineering being utilized for a space program is unbelievable. And another reason for locating the facility where it si has to do with energy efficiency being closer to equator... I remembered them discussing this at NASA but...

    Who's Been Out

I thought about a quick trip but the timing is just not right. A whopping 200 miles put on this year!

    Retirement Scenario

Sounds about the same situation as I am in. Live in Utica (Starved Rock area) and travel around 400 miles to just south of Hayward. Its definitley doable but a drive. And I also got nabbed by the Wisco State cops speeding and it cost me a good bit so I tend to set the cruise about exactly as you...

    Retirement Scenario

My only advice….if you can swing it, don’t wait til you get too old to purchase a place up north. I see so many individuals work then retire to find out that physically they are limited to what they can do/want to do. And maintaining a place can be physically challenging also. Enjoy your time as...

    Retirement Scenario

Already have a lake house in Hayward but would love a lakehouse with more land, but those are few and far between. Plan on retiring in 10 years +/- and living at the cabin from May-Sept then back up for late December for a month or two, all depends on the snow and lake ice. My fiance's family...

    2025 Sleds

I went from the Polaris Assault to the 129 MXZ XRS. I can't say much bad about the Assault, I really liked it but getting older and doing basically trail riding. Only got 200 miles on the MXZ and really, really like it.

    "Energy Independence", eh?

Oil compaines are multinational corporations and will sell their proiduct on the open publically traded market. The middle east has the cheap easy oil and of course they will cut/increase production to help control prices (OPEC). Over production can cause price decreases but there is a limit on...

    Squatters Rights

I cant help on the squatter issue as with my rentals as I have never had an issue removing someone. I have had to evict 2 individuals and its a pretty easy and straightforward process....t least in LaSalle county, Illinois. Serve them eviction notice with a trial date, show up at trial (these...
