What time does the actual world championship race go off Friday night? Going to be in Rhinelander for work and may run up..also any idea what time it gets done? Got a 3 hour drive home so was hoping it doesn’t drag on all night

Very cool..thanks for the share. They can’t even do that race anymore with these pathetic winters. Now they run around a 1 mile oval for 500 laps (boring). So neat to see actual winter like it was when I was a kid..those days might be gone for good the way it’s going.

Think they called it a while ago but maybe haven’t come right out and said it. There’s no way a country will allow the trail clubs to open with no frost, swamps and creeks open, damage to farm fields and lake’s unsafe. Gets to be a safety issue more than anything that nobody wants to be liable...

I think they’re thinking after this warm weather they won’t be able to get thru swamps and low areas...with all the melting standing water etc. ..would need some bitter cold weather to freeze things back up before snow and not looking like that’s in the offering anytime soon(or is snow for that...

Three of us we’re going to do the Circle Tour in 3 weeks..starting in Superior Wis going all the way around Lake Superior thru Canada back to Duluth 1850 miles. Not be be this year… looking at the long range forecast I think it’s safe to say the ship has already sailed on this snowmobile...

Dropped in on the north side of Portage yesterday late morning. Rode to Pardeville then Cambria for lunch (love the Dump bar)..down thru Rio Wyocena then to Lodi stoped at KD’s. Back north to Poinette back to Potage and finished up at Coopers north of Portage. First time out this year on 24...

That’s awesome..saw him come off his sled coming wide open into turn 1 back in the day..Hit the bales so hard you could feel it in your gut. Thought for sure he was a goner but he popped up underneath all the bales and walked back to the pits..one tough customer!

My cousin lives up there said there’s only about 6” total on the ground..enough to get out and pack trails but probably not enough to open. We are usually up there all this week but canceled a couple weeks ago..first time we’ll miss the Derby in 10-12 years. Weather looks not good next week...

Maybe 2.5” here in Eau Claire..still waiting for the 5-9”…

Been downgraded to a winter weather advisory now from a warning..🤦‍♂️looks like 2-3” here now around the Eau Claire area. Looks like the heavy snow will be mid to southern Wis from say Black River south and far eastern Wis to the north.

Canceled our trip to Eagle River for the Derby Jan 17-21. Even if we did get snow next week(none in the forecast)it would take a good couple weeks of rolling and packing/grooming etc to have trails rideable. Needs to stay cold for a couple weeks to freeze up swamps, creeks and lakes. Snow...

Great report...especially about meeting 6 sleds in 3.5 days! I fish those areas in the summer and often wonder what the trails would be like. Was up by Emo up to Nestor Falls to ice fish a couple years ago and it looked like the trails had never ever seen a groomer! Awesome to hear about the...
