Something must have changed. According to the forecast map provided Friday I was expecting a few inches of snow when I woke up this morning. Instead it was clear and now snow had fallen. Did anyone get the snow he forecasted?

Snowmobile Season '17-'18 Grade so far

Now that the season is half over, what grade would you give it? I give it an F. But that's because here in the Southern U.P. we haven't been able to ride yet because of lack of snow.

    1/10-1/11 Forecast

Hello John, I know that you specialize in snowfall, but, as I see this next system approaching it appears that the Eastern 2/3rds of the U.P. will be receiving mostly rain from this , how much rainfall do you see? Thanks in advance.

    1/7/18

1/2" here in Escanaba this morning. Our snow drought continues. We haven't had a snowfall of more than 5" since the winter of '14-'15. 35 degress predicted tomorrow and 37 on Wednesday with rain. Our 5" on the ground could be in jeopardy. How'd every where else fair with this system?

    December 28th-29th Clipper

1" in Escanaba(South Central U.P.) This should be it for the rest of the month. Could be one of the driest Decembers in many years. 5" of very dry snow on the ground. We're two days of a January thaw away from all grass. How's other areas away from Lake Effect fairing so far this winter?

    Have you ever done this?

Today was the first time I've ever snowblowed in the rain. All the years that I've lived in the UP I've ever had to do clear the drive in the rain. It wasn't a light rain either. Wish I could've held an umbrella! LOL Just thought I'd share that.

    Holiday "Fun Wrecker"

John, I hope and pray that your forecast for the upcoming Christmas weekend holds true. Other forecasters are calling for a rain event for 2/3rds of the UP and all of lower Michigan. This rain event would put an end to any holiday week winter fun so I'm hoping that my favorite forecaster is...

    False Radar?

Hello John, For about a 3 hour period this afternoon the radar indicated that it was snowing but there wasn't a flake to be seen. Is this a bad sign for the predicted snowfall? Now that it is snowing I noticed the radar had lots of holes in it heading North towards the Central UP and most of...

    Latest Clipper

How'd everybody fair with the latest clipper. It was a dud here, only a dusting.

    Current Clipper

Hello John, Just out of curiosity, did the clipper system move a little further North then anticipated? Areas in the UP South of a line approximately from Ironwood to Marquette haven't received any snow as of yet from the system just freezing drizzle. Or did the precip fool the forecasters...

    No rain in the Forecast

John, in your forecast you do not make mention of any rain. The National Weather service has rain in the forecast for many of the areas of the UP for the next few days. Is this something not showing on your models?

Finally system snow for the Southern U.P.!

For the first time in over a month we're in the 4-8" color code on the short term map. We've been in that color code on the 5-10 day map but by the time the Forecast gets to the short term the system always moves away. Anyway, are we looking at the low end of that 4-8" range or possibly the high...
