01 MXZ 800 crank issue..

Need a little help here. I have an 01 MXZ 800 X that I lost the crank on. I found a new one out of an 03 replacement motor for a dang good price. The only thing is the two bearings on the mag side (in fact only one) are different. The bearing closest to the rod is fatter then the one on the 01. About .100". I was told by a crank guy that I can have the two bearings swaped out and would be fine. Has anyone out there done this?? I don't have a problem doing it if it will work but I don't want to go out and buy new bearings to put on it because then the price won't be so good...any help here would be great.

The '03 motor is different than the '01 & '02, so be careful. I would verify with a performance shop if you can do that. Try Crank Shop or a place like them. my .02

Yea I am in process of that. It is from an early 03 and I was told 01 to 03 were the same. On the micro the only difference is the bearing number for that one bearing on the pto side. Other wise the same.
