01 Polaris Classic flooding

Last year I rebuilt my 01 600 classic after a broken crank. I rebuilt the motor the next summer after the issue and now I am having a issue with the mag side cylinder flooding out. I thought it might have been a bad needle so i replaced the float assembly and cleaned the bowls, no help. Next i thought I may be a bad fuel pump leaking through the charge line, that is now rebuilt with no change. I'm not sure where to look next if something is plugged in the carb. I runs great for a couple laps around the field but then it floods the cylinder, when we look in the air box while its running and throttle up you can see a gas mist from the carbs. Any insight would be a great help. Thanks

You talked about the needle, then say you replaced the float. But it sounds like you may have a weak needle and seat which will cause flooding.

I believe that there is a test spec for needle and seats, you turn the carb upside down and then pressurize the fuel inlet with a MityVac to a couple of pounds pressure (see if its listed in the service manual for your sled or ask your dealer).

Also make sure that you understand how to set floats and look for any binding in the linkage.

If you have the flat slide carbs. Did you replaced the O-ring under the needle seat between the seat and carb body. I replaced mine and it solved the problem. They don't sell just the o-ring you have to buy the whole assembly, but I was able to find after market viton o-rings from an industrial supply house. I do have some left if you need some.

Remove the carbs from the sled and remove BOTH float bowls.

With the carbs close to level, and rubber hose hooked to the plastic fuel "T" blow through the hose, then flip the carbs upside down.

This should prevent you from blowing through the hose, OR you should be able to determine where the leak is.

If this checks out and you haven't found your problem, check the reeds

I replaced the whole assembly floats needle and o rings thinking with 8000 miles it was a logical culprit. Would the reeds cause it to flood? they are stock as well, would they cause the mist coming through the carb inlet rather than into the engine?
Thanks for the replies.
