I have a 2001 Yamaha SXR 600 that has 8,000 miles on it. I am the 2nd owner and bought it with 3,200 miles on it and had it maintained professionally each season since I've owned it. About 5 years ago I had to replace the piston and other related parts on the cylinder next to the clutch with about 6,500 miles on it due to the rings breaking; all other internal components are factory original. About 4 years ago, the original track blew apart and I replaced it with a used camoplast track and also replaced the bearings in the main drive shaft. The sled has been a favorite of mine and only ridden on groomed trails in Iowa, Upper Michigan, and parts of northern Wisconsin. How many more miles can I expect out of the sled without major repairs? Am I better off trying to sell it before it completely melts down?
