Hello fellas. I went to start the 800 tonight for the first time this season and had trouble fowling plugs. I kept pulling and it was trying to start then the mighty backfire......bam. Motor might have been locked up. I pulled the jugs to find a bent rod on the mag side. My question is can you advise a honorable machine shop that can install a new rod? I'm near Toledo Ohio.

Get a factory re-built crank from Doo, best bet. All new parts, probably cheaper than a rebuilt too.

Join the frozen 800 crank club! Your rings are flaking too no doubt as both happened to me at about 3000 miles. Old sit down sled so part it out not worth new remanufactured BRP 800 engine trade in & have same thing happen in next 3000 miles. Be done with it!!!!! No one gong to give you squat cash or trade so don't sink in a load of cash never ever get it back. If you can get $500 be done & move on to a newer sled & be wiser about doo sealed cranks.
