Which pic shows the wires I should use for my heated shield? Thanks in advance. Need to head out into the monster and be able to see!

Its been awhile since I hooked up a heated shield on a edge, but I coulda swore the wires were down by the regulator by the left side footwell.

I think it's the one on the left as well. I have a plug that will plug right into to it too.....

Problem is I don't have a meter, so I can't tell if it's live.

Can anyone confirm if the plug with the purple and brown wires will work for my heated shield?

Clutch side just above your footwell should be a small square voltage regulator with a yellow (power) and brown (common) wire coming out of it. If there is no brown you can grab it somewhere else. That yellow wire is 12 volts that you are looking for. Not sure what the purple wire on the left is but I dont think it is what you want but then again it may, a volt meter will tell.

Any yellow wire will give you 12 volts A/C power and any brown wire will give you natural or ground. The best way, I think, is to wire it is off of the voltage regulator. There is a empty plug on it (yellow wire) for accessories. Just hook the red wire on your harness to the yellow and ground the black to the frame (One of the hold down bolts on the regulator works for this).

Stevis is right on...The key is to test it with a volt meter on AC, it should read 12-14 when motor is running. Testing on DC will not work because you are on the voltage regulator side. I just hooked one up and did it the way Stevis explained above.
