03 edge 700 touring

trying to removed rear suspension on my 03 edge classic 700 touring,how do you remove the 2 upper wheels from the tunnel,the bolts spin,do you have to remove all the plastic covering?

If you are refering to the rear upper mounting bolts, that attatch the alum. arm from the suspension to the tunnel. You need to modify a 7/8 (I believe) open end wrench to fit around the 2 sided inner retainer. It needs to be ground down to about 3/16 wide to fit in there. If you look with a light, and turn the bolt from the outside, you will see the flat areas that you need to get the wrench on.. Kind of a lousy design, if you ask me, but it works. Pain in the butt though. The bolt will be locktighted, so it will spin out with some resistance all the way. Locktight it back in too.

it does not have that same suspensoin as my 01 and 02 edge's,these 2 are on the back and just have a block bolted to the tunnel with all the plastic touring extension covering them,thanks.

Probably have to remove the bodywork to get at the nuts. If not nuts, then the spinning inserts will have to be cut off and replaced. Have not worked on a touring model yet.
