03 RMK deep snow bogging issues

I have a 2003 700 151" RMK with some minor mods and had some issues while riding it yesterday.

The sled has an SLP high comp head for my elevation (1200'), PSI y-pipe pipe and can, SLP intake and the SLP high flow intake kit. It is jetted and clutched well for my riding style and elevation and usually runs great. I was riding yesterday and it ran great when we were riding in places where there wasn't a ton of snow, places like where there were already tracks to follow or on the trails.

We were riding the UP, anywhere from 18-30" of snow and when we'd find a place with untouched powder, the sled would start bogging and running like crap. I noticed that it ran bad every time there was snow coming over my windshield for a while because the four intake vents would get covered with snow. I checked the airbox for signs of snow in it and there was none getting sucked in so that didn't seem like the issue. If I cleared the snow off the intake vents, the sled would bog for a little longer then start to rip again until the vents got covered again. It seems like the vents arent enough to get sufficient air to the airbox but theres not much for options left as far as places to add more intake vents cause there just isn't much room left with the four already in place. I still have the speedo in place but wouldn't mind losing it but the issue with just adding a speedo intake vent is that was getting covered just as fast.

One of the sleds I was riding with is an Edge 800 RMK and that one has the stock intake vents but also has a speedo intake vent. That sled was having the same issues I was having, bogging every time we were playing in the deep stuff for very long. He would do the same thing, clear off his speedo intake vent and it would start to rip again until it got covered up good again. Underhood temps were fine for me all day, I've never had an issue with those and this is the first time we've had enough deep powder in the UP since I've been riding up there with this sled to have these issues with intake plugging.

What options have some of you guys that are used to really deep pow used or tried? There's gotta be something that'll help, it's an RMK for chrissakes, it should be able to handle 3' of pow and snow coming over the hood for miles. The guy that was plugging his 800 is also wondering what he can do, we love riding the deep stuff but it sucks when your sled starts bogging every time you're starting to have fun. Both sleds have windshield bags, FYI but if you guys have any good ideas, it'd be much appreciated. Thanks in advance.

In the past I had some of the same issues on an RMK. I bought 2 more 2.5 inch bullseyes and put them on the sides of the airbox, problem never showed it's face again.

Cool. I'll add a couple to the airbox and I also just found a speedo flo rite on eba for 15 so I'll be adding that too, even if it gets plugged just as fast its a cheap add on to try. I was worried about adding any to the airbox cause of the warm under hood air compared to the outside air.

Polarisrider, I have those same filter covers on mine, they along with the bullseyes in the dash and airbox clear my sled of any issue in the UP or out west. I'm thinking I should just upgrade to a new ProRMK, but I have never had an issue with my 02 800 RMK with 6000 miles on her. Hard to cough up the money when she sits there lookin pretty for 8 months out of the year.
