05 f7 DOA

My 05 F7 is revolting against the low snow winter and wont start. I started it early this fall and ran it breifly, it appeared to be ok. I pulled it back out after the holidays to get it ready to roll for Jan & Feb. Nada, it was very low on fuel so I gave it a fresh dose of premium, still nada. I've pulled it 100 times +, nothing. It has spark and the headlight flickers, but dosent look like its getting fuel. ANY IDEAS ??

Clean out the carbs? Put some Seafoam in the tank....Not sure if it is the right thing to do, but on my hard to start ski-doo's, I remove a plug or two and give a shot of starting fluid into the head. But my guess is that the fuel varnished up something.

my one firecat that was hard to start this year ended up with a gas leak....I am not sure the technical term, but it was the nipple on bottom of carb. I am not sure if that caused the hard starting either.

carb or efi model? A friend of mine has the 03 efi and the fuel pickup in the tank is plastic and the plastic would deteriorate and plug the pickup he had to take it out and clean it which works for a while but ended up needing new.

Assuming this is an EFI sled I guess that the fuel pump is stuck. easy o go about fixing this is to use a 9 volt battery and alternate it across the wires that come from the fuel pump. That will sometimes get them moving again.

It is an EFI and I think the 9 volt plan fits whats going on. It does have spark and I did try the gas in the cylinder trick and got some action, but only fires with the gas I put in it, no gas getting up there from the enjectors. I'll give the battery trick a try tomorrow, thanks !!

Check to see if the "smart valves" in the fuel tank are open, poor fuel or moisture could cause them to close. Ezra what do you think?

I agree with the 9 volt plan also. I had a Crossfire that I did the same thing to and its works like a charm. Dealer told me moisture gets in there over the summer and creates a little rust, he hooked a battery up to it and 10 seconds later first pull started. Best part was he laughed at me and said no charge.

If the 9v trick works, then your storage habits should change a bit. I would recommend that you store the sled with a full tank of fuel. This will prevent this from happening.

try unpluging the computer by the air box for a min then plug it back in, my buddies m8 does it every year from sitting. It will have spark but not enouf and also the injecters r prolly not opening they are electronic. if the computer goes dormat the injecters wont open. we have tore evry thing apart in the past troubleshot stuff that was not needed. we pulled fuel pumps and pickups and valves out of the tank that were fine. i would seriosly try the computer.
