05 Sabercat 700 skid adjustments HELP

My neice has the sled above and it fish tails constantly. She bought it from a large man and she is MUCH lighter. I am not sure what adjustments have been made but she is a good rider and this sled is not cooperating with her. It has Fox Floats on the skis and possibly the lead on the skid. I am a Polaris guy however I thought a fresh set of eyes on the problem might help. Thanks

I am sure you are aware of the many reasons for fish tailing, i.e. loose snow pack, loose snow pack on ice base, etc... Perhaps there is too much ski pressure, possibly start by checking the spring adjustment on the skid. I say begin there because if this sled was previously owned by a "large" man, the springs could be adjusted all the way up to the third position coupled with heavy duty springs for the "large" man. If on the third setting, drop it down 1 position at a time to see if that helps. Also check the toe on the skis to make sure that they are straight. If I remember correctly, this sled has a 13.5" wide track, they tend to be a tad crazier in loose & soft snow pack on the trail unlike the standard 15" width. Just some idea's off the top of my head. Hope you can figure it out & dial it in.-Mezz

Thanks! I made some adjustments today and she is going to stop by and ride it. Hopefully it will be better. I rode it and it did not exhibet the problems however I had a hard time weigheing 125 lbs less than she does The limiter strap was set short and the ski shocks were extreamly tight. The front skid shock was set pretty firm.
