I just bought a left over 06 fusion 600HO. Tuesday it had 0000 miles on it. Now it has 0410 miles as I went up to Watersmeet and north. Anyway, after I'm riding for awhile and I stop, shut it down to look at the map or whatever it is really hard to get it started again?? I have to pull and pull 4-5-6 times to get it to pop off and then it barley idles till I give it some gas. If I started pulling and hitting the gas at the same time and that seems to work a bit better. It shouldn't be this had to start after its all warmed up should it????? all the updates have also been done. Anyhelp would be great. Thanks guys. Oh, if you wanna know how the trails were......AWESOME! Especially Mass City and north.

Every polaris I have ever seen and even the ski-doo's I have now starts a lot easier if you crack the throttle a bit when starting warm. From the gen II to the iq rmk I had was the same way. The summit I have now is the same way. Very common.

Not sure if there is a fix.

I am not an expert by any means, I would start by looking at the choke cable and make sure it is moving without restriction. Next I would check throttle cables also and make sure nothing came loose.

I had this exact sled. You have to hold the throttle 1/4 way to start it warm. Just the way the carb is. They also have it set to load up with gas at idle, and that causes some of it. Go search this site there is lots of info in the old threads.

Fuel mixture is to rich on Idle. Not familiar with that sled, but smaller pilot jets, or maybe just tweaking a metering screw a bit will probably help, or just crack the throttle a bit.

Jet that mother DOWN! Go to 400 mains and 40 pilots, the 6s are jetted extremely rich from the factory. Oh yeah, and you gotta hold the trigger just a bit when starting warm.

No need to change the pilots, start with dropping the mains to 400 see how it runs. I agree with the others on the starting problem, give it a little throttle.

They are all set up that way to reduce the emissions, Polaris could make them run smoother at idle but it hurts the EPA emission regs.

my 02' 600 has done that from day one i got it
i have to just blip the throttle a bit right when i start it
if i dont, it idles at like 600 rpm and barely runs

does anyone else also have problems with the 600's idling around 3300-4000 after stopping? then you have to give it gas to make it go down again?

Canuck_600,

Yeah, I've had that happen and so have others I know. What worked best for me was quick giving it full choke and it idled right down.

I agree with all others on the warm starting, you just have to give it a little throttle as you pull it over.
