06 REV reverse issue

I have a 06 MXZX 600 sdi with about 5,000 miles on it. I've never had a problem with this sled. I took it out for a short trip last weekend and when I went to load it on the trailer the sled would die out every time I hit the reverse button. I've never had this issue before. Sled runs great so I don't think its compression. It idles well so I do think that needs adjusting. Does the reverse run off the battery on the SDI's? I don't have electric start. Thanks!

Not going into reverse is a big sign of low compression so I would just check the compression to be sure. Does it go into reverse if you give it some gas just before you hit the RER button? If your compression is good maybe your idle needs to be adjusted up a little. Good Luck.

compression tests out fine. sled died out that one occassion and hasn't done it since. i saw over on dootalk that the battery could do it. i bought a new one since i still had to original one in there. probably was about time. the day i had the problem it was 0 degrees out as well.

Yes it's the battery. Go to batteries plus and get a gel filled 4L battery. This is now the 3rd thread someone has suggested low compression. IT"S THE BATTERY.

What's considered good compression? I have an 03 600 HO and already had the ring problem at about 7000 miles. Now with 8500 miles it ocassionally will die when I hit the button. So I want to test the compression. What range should I be looking for?

Ideally about 135-145 lbs. below about 110 it will start to exibit symptoms. Guages can vary too, so if it seems low, try another guage to verify.
