06 yamaha apex

i am looking at a 06 apex my friends have them they like them they have about 3000 miles on them the deal is the one im looking at has 7000 miles on it is there any thing to be worried about with this many miles on it ? it has been maintained very well by a yamaha shop thanks for the help

Engine should be AOk I have over 8000 miles my 07 Attak runs like a top but I only ride in ideal conditions. YMC engines good for 20-30K miles at least so engine should not be a problem. Check track & studs for wear pull outs & front end for slop bushings might be worn but no big deal to replace. Check all boggie wheels for wear. Exhaust donuts had to be changed by now so ask when changed common wear problem about every 4500 miles or so. If donuts have not been changed I would back away not being honest with you & Y pipes may be broken. Stuff rags in exhaust pipes & if engine still runs at idle donuts are shot but again cheap fix as long as Y pipes not broken or worn. Engine should sound smooth as butter if not something is wrong. Backfiring after rev up also means worn donuts. 7000 miles nothing for Apex but check it out like any other sled.:)

Make sure the jack shaft bearing has been replaced. If that seizes up its a real pain to remove. Also inspect your main front support arm (w arm) in your suspension. That year did not have the beefier upgrade. Inspect it for hairline cracks along the welds
