I am trying to install the cord for a Acrtic Cat TXI Helmet heated shield and can't find the connection on a 2007 F5 LXR. Any hints, I have looked around the wiring harness by the handle bar post with no luck. Thanks.

open right side cover, plug should be next to battery.

I have 2 connectors there, 1 with 2 females and 1 with a male and female that has a plug on it. Is the one that is plugged for a tether or is this were I plug in the shield. Thanks for the info I should have asked here first before tearing things a part.

the one with the male female end is the the one for the sheild. I pluged my up there and its worked great since i got it in 2007. enjoy the ride.

Thanks will hook it up there and try it out. I will post a confirmation of my finds. Thank you to John Dee and this site!!! When I purchased the shield at an IL Cat dealer they said to look by steering post, after having problems locating it by the post I called another dealer same answer look by steering post. Sure wish people would learn more about there newer products.

yea steering post was the old ones....i had a zr 900 2003 and thats usually where that one was...twin spar chassis had it on chassis on right side panel... had a protective plug covering it. I used some electrical tape around some tight areas so you might want to think about that too once u decided your route. i have the 2007 f1000 so I hope this helps.
