07 f8 seat removal

I'm trying to change out my rear storage box and the service manuel talks about removing some screws, that to the best of my knowledge are under the rear of the seat. In order to take the seat off it tells me I have to remove the gas tank. I don't think I need to remove the entire tank, but I do need to remove some of the screws under the knee pads. The last step in the directions for the seat removal says to remove the screw on the right side under the knee pad. You need to pull the front right side of the seat back to expose the screw. I've pulled it back and don't see anything to remove.

Anyone have some knowledge about what I need to do to get the seat off?

The only screw that has to be removed in at the top of the rail on the right side of the seat facing forward. Put the seat in the lowest position and pull pack the flap of the seat that is in the center and rests against the tank. Once you do this you will see the screw inside the rail at the top (its in the middle of the slide rail itself), remove that then you can adjust seat to the top and ultimately off the sled.

Thanks, I'll look again tonight. My seat doesn't adjust so anything different I need to know?

If its the standard F8 then there are screws under seat inside the tunnel that need to be removed. Look up above the track and you should see several screws on each side that need to be removed, these are held into a uclip thats physically installed on the seat frame so it is secured to the tunnel. Once you see then you will understand my reference, cant recall if its 2 or 3 a side

Now it all is coming together! There were no screws under the seat but I could see the u-clip so I figured there had to be something else. I recalled the parts diagram showing screws in the tunnel so I looked there tonight (I have it in my shop which is about 10 minutes from home) and saw some screws and a couple hex heads. Was going to post a question about that because I didn't want to start taking things off without some understanding of what I may be loosening. I'll check it out again tomorrow and let you know. Thanks again for the replies.

Success!

Believe it or not, there are only two hex head screws in the tunnel under the back 1/3 of the seat that hold it on. Take those 2 out and slide it back about 1" then it lifts right off. My 650 page tech manual has all this stuff about removing the hood, console, gas tank and who knows what else. Spent almost 45 minutes doing that and thank goodness I never did remove the tank. Took less than 10 minutes to actually get the seat off. Put all that stuff back on and now when I finish with the storage compartment the seat will slip right back in place. Can't believe they say you have to do all that work when the seat has nothing to do with any of it.
