need some info from some 700 dragon owners. i have a chance to buy an 08 dragon 700. 3300 miles , picked, it has already had a full short block replacement, good shape,, but what else should i be aware of besides the motor / re-flash issue. shocks? track issues. i have heard about? a little "hands on" experiences from you dragon riders would be helpful. thanks cadillacman

I have an '07, D7. Love the sled a lot. Have SLP pipe, can, clutch kit, and intake on it. These really brought the engine to life. I did have a burn down. Caused by two things. Poor fuel picked up at a bar, and did not let the engine warm up enough before getting on the gas. I have 3600 miles on it now. Make sure you let the thing warm up before taking off. This goes for all of the new SDI engines. Also, if the fuel filter has not been replaced, I would do that as well. Should be done yearly or every 2k miles.

I really like my 07 D7. Not sure what changes if any where made in 08. I have also rebuilt once at around 5500 miles. Top end only, I did have a piston failure. The only other problem that I had was a broken arm on the skid that I just welded back together. It is a great sled and really fun to ride. I second the warmup time, let it reach 100 before touching the throttle. 7000 miles now and still rips hard.

I agree with the above posts. I had a 2007 700 dragon and absolutely loved the sled. The issues I had: lost one piston so had two new pistons and top end rebuild done, had rear skid shocks rebuilt. I too have an SLP pipe, can, clutch kit and air intake, sled was also re flashed. Now that the sled is freshened up again it is transferring to my son as I snow checked a Rush 800 pro r. I would not be afraid to buy it, if there were issues with that particular sled I would not be keeping mine in the family it would be gone. Fuel filter was changed and needs to be as mentioned above. I also agree with the warm up and its importance.

had my 08 700 for 2 seasons.....no problems yet. I ride about 2000 miles a year. added the SLP pipe and can,and it really needed a taller windshield. thats all i've done, and I'm very satisfied.

busted a ring on my o8, 700...............broke stabilizer arm.....rebuilt shocks now have just over 9600 miles on it and runs great. Put USI skis on it and picks otherwise it's box stock.
