09 800 IQ hesitation

my buddy bought a non-current 2009 800 IQ and he noticed a hesitation/something dropping in and out at 4500RPM's. As soon as you hit the throttle it goes great it almost feels like the exhaust valves maybe be starting to open... Has anyone else felt this on their sled? Is there something that starts at 2500 RPM's?

It feels like my mercury outboard which is a 2+2 which is at low RPM it only runs on 2 of the cylinders and at 2000RPM's the other 2 start firing.

Any input/thoughts would be great!

Make sure the sled has the most current re-map of the fuel usage. It was from Sept/Oct of 2010. If it does not, it's covered under warranty, and he should have it mapped. Will fix the problem. I have an 09 800 and a buddy a 2010 800 (RMK and Assault) and the current mapping does wonders. Faster, Stronger, and no more hiccups...
