I see some good deals on 09 600 IQs, are these good motors. I've hear nothing good about the 800's but would look at the 600 for the wife. let me know

I hear good things about the 6 the 8 still has a few bugs but their almost there. Some snow ingestion problems coming from the area around the headlight on both and there are quick fixes for this and the suspension is very good.

I picked up a left over 2009 IQ 600 this year and love it. I have 853 miles on it so far, and will be adding more this weekend in Munising. It is a great riding sled, and the 600 motor is very peppy. I used to ride a 2001 Edge with the M-10 suspension which i thought was a fairly smooth ride, but this is a world of difference. I haven't had any snow ingestion issues on mine yet, and we did hit quite a bit of powder last week. Only adjustments we have made to mine is to tighten the straps down in the front. Only went one notch just to help the cornering a bit. This coming weekend is the first I will ride it since we've done that. Would higly recommend for the wife.

x-2,
I came off a 01 800 xcsp & just love this sled, I have 1,100 miles on it & no issues, ride is great, power is as good as my 800 was. Only thing I haven't been able to dial in yet is it pushes a little in the corners. My final step is to tighten the front straps down put been hesitating because I don't want it to dart.
I don't know where you are from but I bought mine from the rental dealer in Iron Wood MI. in May.
It only had a couple hundred miles on it. He puts his whole fleet up for sale every spring, Polaris & Ski doo. I'm not into buying rentals so much but the price was right & they had 7 I could pick from, so I picked what seemed to be the best one.
Cloverland Motors is the name of the place & yes he is a site advertiser...

We'll I went and looked at them and got one, the dealer Bristows in Minnesota sold it for $6700 with a two year warranty. they also change the smaller windsheild for a taller on and put on the handle bar hooks for free. I didn't pay set up or freight either, just tax. I thought it was a fair deal.

Hey 800xc..I just got back from my trip to Munising and I love the strap adjustment. There are 2 notches, but we just went to the first hole (shortened the strap about 1 inch) I did feel it get a little bit looser in the back, but after about 20 miles I forgot all about it. The cornering was a world of difference. I used to really lose pace in the twistys, but this time was much different, I was able to corner hard and slide right through them. I wouldn't go to the next notch though, it seems to be a perfect balance right now and I dont want to deal with a darting issue. We rode a good hard clip all weekend and corners were never a problem for me like they usually are.

Well I put 50 miles on it today and I liked it. I'm going to try moving the strap one hole as well. How are these things on gas and oil.

I've been getting about 18 mpg on mine. I dont pay real close attention to miles vs gallons when filling up, but I know each time we do fill up I use atleast 2 gallons less than my husband who has a 600 Edge. Very good on oil as well.

mpg

18mpg????? son has 2010 switchback 600 and barely gets 10mpg . wife has iq 600 gets 10 to 12 . we ride pretty hard so i know that kills mileage.

Like I said, I dont watch mine real closely, but based on the few times i did, I had 16 - 18 mpg. We aren't slow pokes by any means, but I'm not rolling full throttle either.

something leaking

Ok, so I put 150 miles on this past weekend, and when I went to add oil it noticed some rust colored spray all over the top of the right side power valve cap. It appears to have sprayed on the exhaust pipe and over to the right side of the sled. what could it be. Water? Its under warranty but I'd rather not take it in If I can repair it myself. Any thoughts, I'll take some pics today and post tonight

water is dripping down from the hood onto the exhaust valve. There should be a little drain in the hood right above that valve. Plug it or move it.

well, if thats the case why is it only on the right side, and the spray goes all the way back to the chain cover, will the water damage the exhaust valve?
