09 Ski Doo 800 XP Gas Readings

If anyone is having problems with the fuel gage being erratic on the above subject sled. Check out the fuse behind the air box. May not be blow but might not be seated right. I was getting 1/4 tank readings after just fueling up and would be showing the empty light on the idiot panel after only 20 miles. My brother found another similiar problem on the net somewhere and pointed it out and was right on target. Airbox comes out on the left side. Should be a fitting at the top left of airbox, once that is off, you should be able to pop up the air box up with a screw driver to unseat from the vibration foam that might be sticking to the tunnel a bit. It should slide out then. The fuse is right there. Might be two, but can't remember which one so trace back. I believe it was .25 amp. Just an FYI for anyone else out there. The dealer fixed it after it had just been in to get the carbs cleaned.

Just replace the fuse with a new one. Known problem. Make sure the sensor is set in the tank as the service manual states (arrow to arrow).

where is the sensor salmonbum? I believe this would impact the issue of not showing a full tank after you just fill up and the reading would be 7/8 bars? Just curious.

Its behind the airbox. Samm fuse, about 1/2" long. I think I bought a 3 pk (1 amp?) at radio shack.

I was having inconsistant readings too. Pulled fuse and it looked ok, but it wasn't. Put in a new one and all problems were fixed.

The guy at the dealer put in a new spring with the fuse, that could be the issue if the fuse is still good. Makes sense electronically.
