It's been open the last few years. Bessemer club has been doing a great job with everything around their area

11s will be open this year, it has been brushed and signed already by the club. The club has mentioned that they will be using the old 11s route, if that is the case it will intersect with trail 2 in a different location than in previous years. I remember the old route but it hasn’t been used in 10-12 years.
You can follow the club up there on Facebook, they post information almost everyday. Gogebic Range Trail Authority

Correct me if I am wrong but is 11s being referred to the south end of the trail that ran through Porcupine Mtn state park that has been closed for some time? I don't have a map but hoping its true

11S in the last few years at least, refers to the section of 11 south from trail 2 to WI.

This trail used to continue all the way up the the porkies and connected with South Boundry Road over towards Lake of the Clouds. Does anyone know if there are ever plans to open back up the northern section?

One landowner is shutting down the northern part of the trail and they have not been able to figure out a work around. He gave multiple chances, but some people don't understand "stay on the trail," or "no trespassing private property." So due to a few another trail bites the dust.
