14 El tigre feedback

Wanting to hear from other 14 6000 El Tigre owners. I've got about 350 miles on mine so far and am very pleased except for fuel mileage. Seems to run in that 12 to 14 range, although I tend to have a heavy thumb. Was hoping for better but can live with it. The chassis seems much more refined than my 12 XF 800. Very impressed with the ride of the slide action rear skid. The new gauge is sweet, almost TMI. Engine is very strong for a 600. Haven't lined up with another 600 yet to see how it stacks up. Just curious what others have to say.

If u can try running with a easy thumb for a day like if u have the family out and see what your mileage is. I'd be curious to see the difference

Should get a chance next week to find out as we will going to Hayward area and my daughter will driving the El Tigre. She tends to have a lighter thumb.:)

Rode my Brothers while we where in Hayward for New Years. It handled the corners like it was bolted down to the trail. I thought it had plenty of power on the trail, but when we opened it up on the lake it didn't have the legs to keep up with the 800's which was no surprise. Overall... comfortable and just enough of everything. We didn't get to get enough miles to check the mileage. I guess the only thing that is going to be a hassle is buying yet, another kind oil for the new engine. We will find that out this coming week when we head back to Hayward what kind of mileage it gets. Staying on Nelson Lake Thursday-Sunday.

I agree with everything you said Big Whiskey. The sled talks half the oil but it costs twice as much. Kind of a push there accept more range on a fill I guess. Hoping Amsoil will come with oil for this engine at some point.
Hey where do stay on Nelson Big Whiskey? Got a buddy with a cabin on Nelson so we get there fairly often.

I'll give a report on the oil consumption when we get back. We stay at Skeeter's Point Lodge(see utube) on Nelson Lake.

O.K. Back from Hayward and we really pushed the El Tigre on the trails this past weekend. Again, pretty impressive trail performanceand comfortable to ride. As far as the oil consumption, we noticed that it had less than the rest of the sleds we where running. I think we put on 200 miles and we never did need to top of the oil reservor.

Back from Hayward with the El Tigre. Poured oil into a measuring cup and caculated the consumption at about 7.5 miles per ounce of oil. Not sure what it holds, I believe around 3 quarts so that would put the range at about nearly 700 miles on a fill. Gas mileage with the daughter driving it was right at 14. This is 35-40 ish trail speed. not quite as good as the 1100 4 stroke that preceded it but decent. Seems to run one or two better than my XF 800. Has become the trail sled of choice in the stable.

Already do Amsoil intercepter will work on anything

Don't think Interceptor is rated for the new C-Tec 2. My dealer is an Amsoil dealer who has had no issues with me running Interceptor in new sleds under warrenty (Arctic Cat and Polaris) till this one. Interceptor is way thicker than the Cat oil for the C-Tec2.

I stand corrected, just on Amsoil web site and they claim Interceptor is rated for use in The new 600 Cat. I'm going to do some investigating, they say it can be used in Ski Doo e-tec's also.
