that race in the first vid, is just full of amazing riders, who sure take things to the edge, amazing how fearless some of them are and have such faith in there equipment and reflexes LOL

I'd of loved to run that race back in my younger days(did a lot of track time on super bikes)

but I don;'t have the vision and reflexes or in shape to do that stuff no more,
It sure sucks getting older with injuries and health issue's ! takes fun out of a lot of things I used to enjoy and cannot no more and too soon IMO LOL
But still great to see others doing it!

Right at 170 mph in a Mercury Cyclone Spoiler, 429 Cobra Jet, Hurst 4-speed, two 4-barrel carbs, Competition Gold. Wish I still had it! I think 1300+ were built with 16 in my config. This is the same car Cale Yarborough drove in NASCAR.

thanks, I raced a lot of things, over my life time, living where there are 4 seasons, tended to have me racing 4 seasons with assorted toys, and in many aspects
seems I was a guy that never grew out of needing to play with motorized toys, and they just kept getting bigger and faster and more expensive.

and most likely the main reason I got out of super bikes ,was I also rode them on the streets, and had a little too little self control there.
I had a few too many crashes too maybe,as the aches and pains, made riding a lot harder than fun at times, but still couldn;t keep me off them or maybe should say wanting to be riding them!

as for taking big one's to ride super bikes ??
I am not so sure, some times I think we all get caught up in things and don;t even realize how close we are to the edge of going the wrong way, we rely on youth and think at times it just won;t happen to ME<, even after a good crash or two, most of my buddies and me included, just felt we made a mistake, we could next time NOT make.
or just that dam drive and joy we get from riding the, we cannot stop ourselves, and like most things, your always taking things farther as you push things, wanting to push more and more, , or until things push back
I can remember laying in a hospital bed and just thinking about how I couldnl;t wait to get back out again and riding .

Maybe its not big one's as it is a sickness and or , being a little dumb on leaning when to slow down LOL

I also hate to say it think a lot of things we do,m has to do with the friends we have and hang out with, some can be really bad influences that drive each other in directions and risks!
friends can be good and bad at the same time LOL

actually I am NOT scared of getting the flu or this thing, honestly could care less if I get it or not.

But I cannot get into stores here without wearing one
and if it possibly saves someone from getting something, then I am also fine with doing so, maybe make others feel better or, heck, maybe it will help someone from NOT getting it in the first place and passing it on at a higher rate, making all this crap last even longer than it has already!

SO< no, NOT scared as the reason I am wearing a mask!

I worked in a clean room for many yrs and had to wear one and many other things, never had issues with them getting filled with spit, or sweaty or gross! to be honest, there disposable for a reason!

and secondly
you telling me you don;'t wear a snowmobile balaclava mask ??
something tells me most guys here that ride sleds wear them and be huffing and puffing there brains out at times doing so
so sweaty and spit filled gross??
HUMM< makes you wander no LOL

I know my face mask, never got so sweaty as my head does in a helmet while wrestling a sled in beat up trails for miles running at some speeds?
yet, no one ever seemed to complain about wearing one then do they??
but GOD for bid there ask too, to try to and help solve a problem for a short while

funny how life works this way!
like street bike riders that refuse to wear a helmet, and so many ride sleds too and have NO problem wearing them there??
we pick and choose things we think are dumb, or not
but when one thing YOU think is DUMB< can help others, and isn;'t a big deal to do,
is that maybe being selfish??
