1991 Polaris Indy Lite

I bought this sled over the summer for my daughter and we finaolly got a little bit of snow for her to ride it yesterday. When you accelerate from being stopped it hesitates jerks back and forth, almost like the parking brake is on, then engages and rides fine. The only time it does this is from a dead stop. Is this a belt or clutch issue? Any insight would be appreciated.

check for flat spot on the side of the belt. Most likely the problem

Take the belt off and check for the flat spot on the side. Had a buddy do this..Could also be a track driver issue or broken cog ona gear in the chaincase...But start small

Thanks for the info. I did some investigating and this sled is a direct drive so no chaincase or jack shaft. So hopefully you are right and it is the belt.

Hey Craig. Thanks for the response and info. I ordered a new belt today we'll see if that's the issue. Fingers crossed. If central WI gets some decent snow at some point we'll have to get together and ride.
