hey guys i'm new at this and my problem is that my toy is miss firing, and at the same times makes a big boooom through the muffler or sometimes through the carb. And I was wondering if someone has a repair book that I can check the timing chain position.

reverse over ride

hold the button in and see if it runs better or you cam shaft mite be toast , the ex lobes go away

Take the valve cover off and crank over with the plug cap off and watch to see if the exhaust valves are being pushed down the same distance as the intake valves, And I agee they had alot of soft cams in those days. Don't forget to check the simple things like a fouled spark plug. Good luck

Check the throtle safety switch might be sticking when you move it.Can cause a back fire.
