Took a little ride this morning and afternoon. Started in MW, took 19N (smooth) to 17, south on the grade (smooth) until 182 west, right towards Springstead and worked our way down south towards Fence Lake Chain via trails and roads (Trails not groomed but plenty of snow), jumped on the lakes and ran over to hook up with 17S and rode south to 17/10N which is combination of trail and roads. 51N across HWY 51 and 8N into Boulder was freshly groomed and just awesome!, Rode up to Goochs on 15N OK, (Forgot they are closed on Wednesdays) backtracked down to Headwaters for lunch. Took Trail 2 from BJ over to MW (Nicley groomed and smooth all the way. Pics are from Trail #2 BJ to MW. Enjoyed the ride Jerry!

Took my ride down to Rhinelander today and every trail that I passed on road or near it was freshly groomed, flat, and perfect. It was 19 below in MW this morning so I can imagine the trails set up quite nicley. This will be a great weekend for riding up her in this area (Vilas, Oneida, Price, Iron, most of the counties in the northern tier as well) Plenty of white to go around right now but looks to be a warm up next week around freezing during the day. Maybe a clipper next Tuesday to keep this going? I literally have 3ft snow depth in my yard right now, my dog just sees white this time of year when she's outside. Get up here and ride if you can!

E1, I feel your pain, I used to live in Oconomowoc until we moved up here in September. It was always frustrating waiting for snow after staking and signing the trails every fall, I talked to guys in my club and they said Waukesha County has only been open 3 days this year so far. I have to say though I am almost ready for the season to end as it has been very cold and snowy here this year. I would like to se blue water out there by April 15 but I think that might be wishful thinking. We would need some warm weather and rain to get that started.

Based on the traffic I’m seeing this year and the snow I bet businesses have been doing great this year and I’m so happy for them!

SledTL, I don't get down that trail very much because I usually stay north due to high traffic but because of the new snow we decided to run south the other day and we were not dissappointed. If you had the chance to ride Vilas/Oneida Thursday it must have been pretty nice.

Hybrid, I see your over in Price County, love the trails over there, best kept secret ever. Most people just like to ride to the bars and resturants but everytime I have ridden Price it's like the UP, nice wide trails, smooth, but you do have know where to find gas. As for the ice out, I am hopeful, we typically only get to enjoy the water for 6 months, now that I live here I do fish as late as I can with a smaller boat so maybe get closer to 7 months.

For sure, hats off to the men and women who drive these awesome machines! These are Mercers machines, MW uses a brand new Tucker Trail Boss, has room for 6 people in it, all decked out with current electronics but I couldn't get the picture to tranfer because it's too large of a file (noticed that happens more on this site now than in the beginning)

I have a cabin in Price County, I feel that it's the best kept secret with the trails there. I mention often that I believe there is a reduced amount of traffic due to limited bars and "nightlife"....which is just fine by me.
I ride with friends from all over the state, back in the beginning of this month we all stayed at a house in Couderay and we ended up riding over to Price County and everyone from my group commented on how nice the trails were once we got into Price County.
It's a gem!!!
