2000 polaris indy gen 2 chain case oil change

i went today to change my chain case oil. is it bizarre that there is no drain plug for the chain case on these machines or am i just missing something? how do you get that oil out without pulling the case cover off and making a complete mess?

There's a plug located under the belly pan. Should b right by the drive sprocket under the sled.

It's a Allen head. I slide a pie pan under it,very clean and easy change.

take the cover off wipe it clean, no big deal , strip the drain then the fun bigins

You might be better off to pull the cover, wipe out the sludge & metal shavings.

Not sure if the GEN 2's have drain plugs, thought that started with the EDGE's in 2001 ??????

While you're in there, Check the lower sprocket bolt to see if it's tight.

If it's loose, remove and clean out threads with Brake-clean and install with RED Loc-tite and let dry in a heated garage

torque specs are somewhere around 20 ft lbs. ??
