2000 Polaris no spark

Hi, I have a 2000 Polaris XCSP 700 and I have no spark. This is the second time this has occured. The first time I let it sit for a day and it fired up. This time no luck. Is this a common problem, I am thinking of replacing the coil but wanted to have other opinions before I do. I am also thinking it could be in the wiring under the handle bar cover. Any info would be great, thanks in advance.

There will be a plug in connector down by the recoil. I think it will have four wires just make sure it is the connector with Yellow wires in it.

Unplug this and ONLY THIS connector and check for spark. This will eliminate all the wiring on the machine and tell you if you have ignition component trouble or something wrong in the wiring harness.

If you still do not have spark I can give you more info to test the ignition components.

Thanks Mike I will try that and reply with the results. (It will be a while before I get back to where the sled is being stored.)
