My wifes sled is burning twice as much oil as my 600.
It looks like the sled is on fire just sitting. and any one
following her gets smoked out. I just had it to the dealer
and had a tune-up. Is the oil pump stuck on high????????

The Oil Pump is under the Carbs. I used to check it with a small round Mirror on a long Handle. Check Doo talk or get a Service manual Disc off Ebay to adjust it. It should use around 1 Qt per 100 miles(75-125). If it was stuck wide open you could see that by looking in there with a Flash Lite, 1/2 of your Throttle Cable goes to the Pump and the Arm moves with the Throttle.

You must remove your Air Box to see it and the Carbs to adjust it unless you have Rubber arms and the right Tools.

I assume GT meens Grand Touring.

needs to be adjusted properly. even a 1/16" of cable play can make a big differance in oil consumption.

Most Dealers will not lean them out unless they do a Oil analysis check on them and then it will cost a lot for Labor.

Does your Cable have the adjustment on the Cable up by the Air Box?

We looked at the oil pump and cable. The cable on the pump looks like it is loose
But if you snap the gas it falls back some more, like the spring is weak.
But it pulls the oil pump first before the carbs. So we think it needs a new
cable. plus I just changed to amsoil Interspter when this all started, before I
was running ski-doo min oil.

You may have a sticky Pump. If you change your Cable you have to know what your doing and have everything adjusted properly. Did you order a Service Manual off Ebay yet? I suggest having a Dealer do it for you.

Interceptor may flow a little faster but not a lot and it should Smoke a little less than Mineral Oil seeing it is a Synthetic.
